It absolutely does make sense. It doesn't where you are located, your site is global, so you can promote products to people who live all over the globe.

I live in Australia, yet MOST of my visitors come from in the United States, which is the case with most sites.

So my point is you can run your business from anywhere, it makes no difference.

Also with respects to Amazon, they have tools that allow you to use ONE link which automatically detects the persons local Amazon store and redirects them there, while still giving you full affiliate credit for any sales that take place.
