Backlinks Matter: Let Me Show You Why

Backlinks are important and help you rank.

There.. I said it and I don't care who disagrees with me.

I say this because I've experienced the positive results of attaining natural backlinks to my websites and it's flippin' AWESOME!

The role of a backlink from another website to your website is super important as it creates a signal to the search engines that other sites find your content valuable.

Can you imagine if a news outlet or an authority site links back to your site!?
What do you think will happen?

Well, here is what happened to me:

Because of my awesome content, Good Morning America linked back to my site (the TV show and their website) and I earned a plethora of traffic, sales and gained authority in my niche.

So.. yeah Backlinks matter. Want proof? Have a look at this screenshot:

This is a screenshot of my Google Search Console which shows websites that are linking to me and which pages they are linking to. 

So, if Google didn't care about backlinks, then why would they be showing this metric in Search Console?

Again.. Backlinks matter.

The Dark Cloud That Lingers Over Backlinks

I think the biggest issue with backlinks is how site owners go about getting them.

There are services available on the various freelancing sources that promise you 1,000s of 'high quality' backlinks for a mere few dollars. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU DO IT.

I've seen so many site owners fall victim to these dodgy backlink services that end up decimating their websites.

So How Do You Get Backlinks?

It start with your content and making it absolutely awesome.

If your content is awesome and other site owners see that, they will naturally want to share your resource and link back to you.

But Do You Get Authority Sites to See Your Site?

This is where link prospecting and outreach comes in.

This is a basic 2 step process:

1. Research and Link Prospect

This is where you look at other websites and find opportunities where they can link back to you.

2. Reach out and Ask

Once you find some prospects, you now need to reach out to them and ask if they will link to you.

While this all may sound a bit intimidating, it's actually a pretty easy process to do AND you can use the help of AI or ChatGPT for this entire process.
