Should I start adding affiliate links?

Hello everyone, how are you?

I have created my website couple days ago, and right now I'm in the Making Money training. Within the second lesson in that training, Kyle recommends to add affiliate link to our website. Well I wrote four articles on my website, and I was working on getting comments on those articles. Google indexed all of them.

Right now I'm writing fifth article, and I'm wondering is it too soon to add affiliate links? Should I add more content to my website before I add affiliate links?

When did you started with adding affiliate links?
What should I consider before adding affiliate links?

Please let me know; i believe that it's still not the right time to add affiliate links. I feel little bit insecure about that, since my site is new.

Thank you in advance

Marko

Hi,

Yes you can. Go for it! Keep in mind some affiliate links will take you out of their program if you did not make a certain amount of sales within their timeframe. Amazon is a good starter. Be aware of Google Adsense. They refused me because I did not have enough contents I suggest you build your contents and go from there.

All the best in your success!

Add them when and where required and don't worry about anything else. A post about "The Best Coffee Machines" should have Affiliate links, a post about perfect coffee bean roasting probably not.

As long as everything is natural, as long as Affiliate links are only used when appropriate, then google is fine with it. Pages filled with no information and tons of links are never going to rank.

It's never too early, it is all about being appropriate. Of course, some articles should be helpful, guides and informative posts, and others your more (subtle) selling pages.

It won't hurt if you don't add links, you won't have any traffic yet, but it will mean you have to go back at a later date and add them...if you want to make any money.

The key is don't stress about it. as long as you don't overdo it everything will be fine.

Hi - most companies will want to inspect your website before accepting you into their program. They will be looking for lots of content and traffic. So yes, you are right in that respect in thinking that it's too early.

On the other hand, Amazon will accept anybody, regardless of the newness of their site. However, they do insist on you making three sales in the first 180 days, which is not easy if you have no traffic.

Hi Marko,

I feel that it's perfectly fine to add affiliate link right for the start. As long as your website provides useful content, and you don't spam it with affiliate links, you'll be fine.

My mistake was too cautious in adding affiliate links, and then I wonder why I'm not making sales after having 50+ posts.

Now, I have a ratio of 2+ article with affiliate links + 1 without.

Hope it helps.

Great question, I have been wondering the same thing.

The want to be to early, but, is there such a thing as being to early?

Can’t wait to see responses!

Its a good question i was thinking the same at this stage ... i would recommend to put up atleast 1 affiliate link as its good to actually know how to do it ... you can always delete it if you want to later on ... more than likely you will be changing links on a regular basis so its nothing to worry about to much ..
