Feeling the pressure

So I've been working on my website for several months now and at this point is where most newbies would give up and turn away from affiliate marketing altogether. Just before that point where one would have a breakthrough ah-ha moment. It's at this point that separates those who really want their online marketing business to succeed and those looking for a way to "get rich" overnight.

I have to say it has been an interesting journey so far and I've managed to learn so much in such a short amount of time, but I'm right, "at that point" and I can start to feel the pressure. I'm finding that I keep asking questions such as, "what am I doing?" or, "why am I even spending time and money on something like this when I should be saving every nickel for college?" Indeed this is an experience that most would go through during this trial, but I must confess that I have digressed.

I'm at that stage where most would simply lose interest and move on, but that is simply not an option for me. This means to much for me to simply give up so late in the game and affiliate marketing for me may be my only means to achieve my goals to lead a better life.

However as seeing so many so called guru's using aggressive coaching tactics to inspire others can lead newbies to feel disheartened at times. As a beginner, you may hear things like, "meet your expectations and step over them" or, "break your employee mindset" which can actually be counterproductive for some new to affiliate marketing.

Look, you don't have to re-invent the wheel here or be superman, just follow the guidelines here at WA and to paraphrase Nike's corny slogan, "just do it", and if you need a break for awhile, don't be afraid to step away when you need too. Not to take away from those who follow the entrepreneurial mantra because these people are likely far more successful than me, I'm just saying that for some newbies this style of coaching can intimidate them from pressing onward.

That being said, there are times when I take a step back too. Occasionally I may only log in to google analytics to check traffic or my website to check messages, which at this point I must confess I still do not yet have any comments on my website though my ranking is riding the fence on the first and second page of google, but sometimes you need to step away for a bit so things are fresh again. Just be sure you don't slip into the habit of "taking frequent breaks" otherwise you'll keep making excuses for yourself why you can't make time to work.

Thanks for reading and if you like this post, be sure to give me a buzz.

-cheers

Totally agree Lukus. My mantra is never, never, never give up.
Taken from someone who would know Winston Churchill.

This is what I intent. Many of the world's most successful figures know you have to be hard-headed to get what you want from life and Winston Churchill is no exception. Too many give up so soon in the game.

Thanks for the great post. We should never give up because we may be just at the place where we are about to break through. So you are doing well to keep going.

True. It's still very easy for me sometimes to question my motives. This goes for anyone trying anything new for the first time. I'm too stubborn though. You almost have to be crazy to keep trying because most people like to stay in their comfort zone and stick with things that are familiar.

The one tried-and-true way to earn a living for example involves the employee mindset. It's the beaten path and one therefore the other

Keep on going....but enjoy the process as you go forward. Don't worry about success or failure. That's only a distraction, it only creates pressure, because we are only thinking about getting our money's worth. ENJOY the learning process and experiment (play), The enjoyment makes it worth it, and the goal (success) will take care of itself.

Agreed. The most important thing in any venture is to enjoy yourself. Passion for your hobby comes before money. Very well spoken Lemm.
