About Lukus

Greetings, my name is Lucas and I currently work full-time as a salesman in a call center promoting satellite TV equipment and premium movie channels and so far I'm one of the top performers in our district because the key to my sales is developing a connection with my customers. I also do coaching within our site for newbies so I do have interest in helping others succeed here at WA since at my current full time job which I've been working for 2 years I already do this anyways.

It is my dream to take this same talent and apply it to the online world. I like video games and am also interested in bike riding, writing, hanging with friends and family, swimming, and just plain having fun. Working 9-5 jobs just cramps my laid back style and I hope to change that someday by earning enough by writing, which I love to do, to quit my current job and work my own schedule.

I do understand it will take a lot of hard work, discipline, time management skills, and patience to develop my career as an online marketer. To those of you skeptical about online marketing and making money online, I'd like to share that I've tried other marketing methods online a few years back, namely referral marketing and even already tried affiliate marketing once and was not successful.

I was surprised when I actually made a very small amount of money and it was a game changer for me, so don't none of you convince yourselves it can't be done. The only reasons I abandoned said previous projects was due to the lack of support and other personal life changes. Thankfully, the former will no longer be an issue for me since I've discovered WA.

Writing reviews and posting in blogs and message boards to earn a second income will be a great opportunity and challenge for me. Plus I'm hoping with the advantage of an active community here at WA I can finally meet and exceed all expectations in the online marketing world. With a steady income coming from my websites and my current job along with grants hopefully I can go back to college and finish what I started.

Pleasure to meet you all and Godspeed.

Thanks Harold. I'm not the perfect example of one who follows a healthy life. There are still some vices I could stand to kick, but making an earnest attempt with nutrition and dietary habits is a starter. Hopefully I can share some experiences with others down the road too someday. I'd love to share some now and then pictures to people too because I've been considering weightlifting as part of my goals for improvement. Here's to a better life!

cheers-

Hi Lukus, I have implemented your suggestions. They were spot on.
I was happy for you to think I was British. I see that as a compliment. I was not offended at all. I just wanted to let you know where I lived.
I would appreciate having you as a contact in WA.

Saw a message about your concerns over Windows 8.
I too have windows XP and very upset with Microsoft....and now no support
My brother in law an electrical engineer and computer whiz
just advised a decent anti virus software, and backup regularly.
He has always used LINUX....with no antivirus....no problems.

I'll use XP for as long as possible. Heard if you have Windows 8 Pro you can just downgrade back down to Windows 7 if you wanted and Windows 8 also can be configured to work in classic mode.

Still it's mind boggling why Microsoft would choose to ignore the demands of thousands of business professionals and alienate themselves from a very important source of revenue for their company while primarily catering to the media industry. There are alot of businesses with proprietary publishing and data entry software that's not compatible with Win 8 and many of them do not want to shell out thousands of dollars on development costs for software to work for their VPNs and Win 8.

Chime and apps for a desktop is such a terrible and cruel joke for people who actually want to use their operating systems for business related uses. Not ergonomically friendly at all to swipe at your PC monitor and forget trying to use a mouse. Not everybody uses their computers for nothing but social media and video games, and Windows 8 isn't even that great for games either anyways. XP or even Windows 7 offers better support for gaming. Windows 8 is for tablets first and foremost, and it should not be shoved down the throats of those who don't want to use a touch screen on their desktop machines.

It's the principle that counts even if there are work arounds. Microsoft knows they screwed up with Windows 8 and are trying to minimize losses by requiring desktop users to purchase Win 8 Pro to downgrade back to 7 rather than owning up to their mistakes. When XP finally draws it's last breath on my machine, I'll be dual booting either Ubuntu or Mac. If I have to learn totally new OS software, it won't be from Microsoft as I definitely won't be learning affiliate marketing on a Win 8 platform.

Finally updated my profile picture! woot! Now everyone here at WA can finally see my awesome shiny bald head in all it's glory! :)

That's one more success for me in the bag! Sadly though, not that big of an accomplishment for alot of folks here. Most people already have phones and cameras nowadays, but still a success I'll take!

An incredible event in my life just happened. For the very first time in my WHOLE life, I'm now the owner of a website with my very own domain! Pure nirvana. Thanks to all of you for your support! Kyle's step-by-step process is truly revolutionary! Special mention goes to my sponsor nathaniell for taking the time out of his busy schedule for all of his assistance! The road ahead is still long and bumpy, but I'm that much closer to being a successful business owner!

Still doing niche research. Planning to get my free website soon up as well as updating my picture so you'll get to see I'm a real person and not some super advanced web bot. LOL It's reassuring to know I can just delete it and try again. I'll probably be doing that alot.Painful first baby steps. Just like working out though, no pain no gain! I'm just going to have to pick something and wade in. I'll never know what niche is good unless I try, but I'd really would LOVE to do product reviews. It was always my life dream to be a video game reviewer for a major magazine publisher, we'll just have to see how this goes. I have a few plan B niches lined up in case this idea flops. Just for the record, I haven't been this nervous since leaving home for the first time for trade school!

You can always combine video game reviews with something a bit more practical, something is a related niche.

There would be nothing wrong with doing a site about MMORPG strategy, and having reviews of video games you play. The reviews can be for fun, and the other stuff can be for profit.

Think of all the money that's spent in the industry and where people are spending it. That's a good way to find a great niche.

I'm thinking of ways to organize things in my head.I hate it when I'm struck with inspiration and then stuck with no way to take notes when I'm not in front of my computer. I may need to consider investing in a tablet or notebook PC in near future. Dumb question but can I go ahead and start a WA blog even though my first niche likely won't be bootcamp? Also, now that I'm a premium member are there any benefits from the free websites vs. a domain? (i.e. are free websites easier to experiment with?)
Reply
nathaniell Premium
Now that you are a premium member, I recommend your website be .com websites unless you are using it for testing, then siterubix is fine for that. .Com's will always be better for branding and ranking.

You can certainly start a website that is on the topic of "my marketing journey" or something like that, and you can use it to track your progress. It might be fun, kind of like an online journal, and means you can promote WA without doing bootcamp per se.

I don't recommend doing two full websites at once though, because it will be a huge time suck, and likely frustrate you.

Hi Lucas, Nathaniell here. Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate!

I'm glad to see you've signed up and are ready to get started.

Before you start making money, there are just two things you need to know.

1) Those who ask questions interact with the community are far more likely to learn faster and meet their goals. Watch this video here to learn how to maximize your community reach in WA https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/completing-your-account-set-up-at-wa-adding-a-description-image

More buddies means more support. More support means more success.

2) You can get started learning how to make money by doing your Level 1 Certification Course. Click on the green "Get Started Here" button or just click this link https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur-certification-getting-started-level-1/getting-rolling. Remember that you can ask any questions you want in live chat, on your personal blog, or in the Getting Started Classroom here https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started

And don't forget that you can also access me for 1-on-1 support by leaving a message on my profile https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/nathaniell or by private message if you are a premium member.

★ ★ ★ How To Access Your Exclusive Bonuses ★ ★ ★

I also wanted to let you know that if you join the premium membership in this 7 day window you'll get a TON of awesome stuff.

First off, you'll get a 59% discount ($19.95 for 1 month) on your membership. Twenty bucks for you first month of WA is an absolute steal. This is available to all members. But I've lined up some other things which are a bit more exclusive.

☆ ☆ Bonus #1: Live Case Study 3 Part Webinar Series

Get access to a 3-Part-Series Live Case Study webinar. It's video series where a professional internet marketer creates a complete 'niche website'. All steps are included and thoroughly explained. Total length of the videos is about 3 hours.

This will give you a broad overview of the type of site you will create on Wealthy Affiliate. I think it's always a good idea to know the direction you are headed before you start your journey.

☆ ☆ Bonus #2: Exclusive Look at The Top 5 Newbie Mistakes And How To Fix Them

Some questions get asked over and over again. It's very likely you have these same questions.

This is a two-part bonus. It includes an exclusive video not available to other WA members where I create a website EXACTLY how the training teaches you. Many new members don't follow the instructions properly and can't get their sites to work. Watch this video first, and you'll be up and running in 20 minutes with your own .com hosted here on WA.

I have also included 5 newbie website design and setup tips. These are super easy ways to turn your site from a basic Wordpress install into a streamlined canvas ready for action, and ready to impress your traffic.

This means you will be able to bypass these typical mistakes, get started faster, and on the right foot. This is an exciting time - you are building the foundations of a profitable online business, and I want to help you get started as quickly and smoothly as possible.
