Two neat ideas for creating videogame niche content

First, make sure you don't accidentally delete your draft if your writing a blog. The words don't flow very good a second time. Blah. :p

The Wonders of Creative Writing

Secondly I recently remembered a neat Tumbler page for those in the video game niche I'd thought I'd share. You see before WA, I found this college kid's blog centered about a Pokemon character he wrote fanfiction for back in in 2012. I didn't know it at the time, but had I'd know before he relinquished ownership to someone else, I would have told him how he could have leveraged his terrific writing skills to help pay his college tuition in affiliate marketing! Fanfiction writing and episodic content can be a very powerful concept in creating a follower base and keeping them HOOKED! The page is but a shadow of what it used to be as it's no longer serves the purpose to demonstrate the power of good writing skills but to those interested, it can be found here:

The new owner is more focused on the illustrative side of art rather than writing and that brings me to a hypothesis. I'm wondering if there's more power to good writing than I initially thought. This blog is now more focused on sketches than creating s fanfiction backstory and also demonstrates the importance of writing if you want to get ranked as evidenced here:

As you can see it was around Jan 2014 when the original owner whose idea was focused on writing relinquished his blog to another artist whose work instead involved illustrations. I now understand truly how important keywords really are! The original owner had a brilliant idea. Writing was what he loved to do and he had HUNDREDS of followers who loved his work. He released episodic content every so often as his blog was one of the biggest in Tumbler at the time. I wished I could have told him about affiliate marketing. He posted links to stores selling WiiU, 3DS, and more.

Final Thoughts

Does anyone see where I'm going with this? So much opportunity. Lots of highly intelligent folks out there who don't have a clue about affiliate marketing who would be great referral candidates for bootcamp! Or better yet members of WA who want to create a niche in videogames! Hope this helps give someone in the community some ideas. Thanks for reading! I am in the video game niche trying to sell myself as an artist who does gaming. I host Twitch streams on my site, started writing reviews, and I have already been making gaming videos and cartoons for a couple of years.

GameStop, Bestbuy, Toon Boom, and Electronic Arts have already accepted me as an Affiliate as well. 22 days ago, I joined WA, with no prior Affiliate marketing experience at all. Your post rings true to me.

Interesting story. Video games pretty much ruined my life lol, but oddly enough it's not the niche I'm pursuing. I pretty much felt that in order to be successful in that niche you really, REALLY need a creative angle. I just get the feeling that pitching stuff and writing about games you like won't cut it. Call it a hunch. Maybe it worked for others. Plus there are waaayyy to many review sites out there and gamers only care about reviews for the latest games. I'm not that trendy. I play games I like, old or new.

Plus I feel as though there are too many areas in that niche I'm left out of like creating mods and multiplayer which are 2 things I never really got into except for maybe applying mods others have created.

As for affiliate marketing, like many of us here, we tried in the past with other programs but was was met with no success due to the lack of support other programs failed to give and 95% of other work-at-home programs that only offered a single product (i.e. ebooks, DVDs, etc) are either outdated or outright scams. I feel a bright future is in store for us though here at WA. Best of luck to you!
