Does Life Really Begin at 40?

I just turned 40 last month and never thought about what the remaining of my life lies ahead. What is that I am seeking or determine to do with myself? I never in my entire adult hood life ever sat down and thought what will the next chapter of my life will be. Maybe time to explore things that I truly like to do? All I do is work everyday and I don't have much time to myself besides a few hours on the weekend. I work two jobs to keep ends meet. I enjoy spending having money but I work to pay off my debts. I want to spend the rest of my life with no worries.

Ludy, your question is one for the ages! To be free of debt is a lofty goal; however, you are going to always owe someone, especially yourself.

If you do not take time for yourself, the regret later in life will be that you missed out on the opportunity to build fond memories. The only memories you will are those struggling to be debt free.

Where is the joy, fun, and excitement? It won't exist! Sure you will have small memorable moments, but that is not the same as an adventurous day trip or night on the town with the girls.

You cut out time to blog, work two jobs, but nothing for yourself. Hang out and blog about it. That's two birds with one stone.

The fact is, only you can decide how important this time in your life is.

I gave up worrying about it to be honest. Had a big health scare some years back and just live for the day. Happy to wake up every day.
Take care.

Our age and how we should act is a preconceived socialistic belief.

Think about it.

Ages:
Coming of age, rites of passage at 13 or 15 yrs old.
Drivers license at 16
Age of legal adult 18 ( I turned 18 the year that changed in Calif.)
21 legal drinking age
The dreadful 30 milestone.

All of the expectations we place on ourselves, it's a wonder we feel accomplished in anything.

It's not until you decide to go off the path and try out online businesses. Make a name for yourself, score a mark in the internet land, forge yourself to towards something you want, truly want, no matter what.

Age is just a number.

So,don't worry about what you have not yet done, attempted or accomplished, look towards what you can do to make yourself feel good about your efforts.

Rudy,
I appreciate it and from here on out I will look forward to not what I have; yet, many efforts and I can actually count on that.

You're welcome!

So often we get caught up in the rituals that befall us, and it just ain't so...grin

That's a really interesting question
One that I'm still having to quantify with my friends

I was not one of the typical individual that goes through phases when I reached 40

I prepared for it by setting goals and realistic expectations that I needed to be in both my professional as well.as personal life

I guess because all my friends are so much older and I have seen them go through all the different reality checks, reflections etc
But I never had any of those 'moments'

Life for me begins at whatever age you decide it does
Your outlook and positive actions frame the life that you want to aim and live :)

Hi, Ludy. I had a similar experience when I turned 40. Looking back, I learned so much in my 40s that it's as if I lived an entire lifetime during that decade.

Entering my 50s, I feel much better about what lies ahead. In fact, that's going to be the subject of a future niche I have in mind.

You're in a great place here at WA in every way. I find that people have no boundaries in terms of the support they are willing to provide. If it's affiliate marketing, people here are great about that. If it's on a personal level, I have seen amazing support on that level too.

I trust that a lot of other people will be able to relate to what you're going through and share their experiences. Hopefully you will find some things among those that will be useful in coming to terms with your situation.

Jorge

Jorge,

I also, feel that being her at WA such a great space that allows to do whatever you like and not being judge by it. Thank you for your support.
