Christmas is a happy and joyous time of the year but.......
It is also the time of the year that more people than any other time of the year are affected by depression. It reminds us of our past, shoulda, coulda,wouldas and guilt for not doing this or that, and not being good enough, anyway, to do this or that.
I have spent the last three years studying and facilitating Mindfulness. As an adjunct to Mindfulness, I spent a lot of time researching CBT ( cognitive behavioural therapy) and have met weekly for the last 14 weeks meeting one to one, for hour long sessions with a CBT Psychiatrist.
I and many others, spend a lot of our time and mental capacity regretting the past or dreading the future.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery.
Why don't we Just for kicks, just for a week or so live in the moment. We get to make our choice every day. Will we make it a good day, or not. Just being here is good evidence that we are trying to make it a good day.
