This week's Success Circle discussed something all WA members will find interesting. I asked What Does It Take To Be A Solopreneur- What Skills? What Personality? What knowledge?
Our Reasons
One member suggested he went into online business because he had no other option at the time, having just lost his job. I, on the other hand said it's just what I love doing. Others stated they disliked following someone else's orders. In my career coaching work, I hear many retireees stating they need additional income but don't get hired due to their age. So it seems there are a variety of reasons that people choose this path.
What Skills? What Personality? What Knowledge?
I was able to record the following from our discussion:
- 8 specific skills
- 1 key knowledge set
- 5 personality traits
- 12 personal qualities

Well, I tried 12 years ago to build a website, I was excited, but knew nothing about computers and the source didn't did not know how to deliver. But we are bless to have such a second chance to succeed, with good training videos to help and to understand. Also with leaders like Kyle and Carson given the mind to want to want to help others. This is a fantastic online business!! I'm excited.
So you are suggesting that the knowledge is critical. I agree and I suppose our group sort of took that as a given. Good reminder.
I love this, for my self, it was the desire to be able to work from home and make my own hours. I wanted to be able to spend more time seeing my children, especially during the summer months when they are not in school.
If I were to go get a full-time job, I would have to take a chunk of my income earned and pay for child care.
So I guess you are suggesting a desire. That's a piece we didn't cover. Thanks for posting Brianne.
As far as a quality or trait, I would say determination. A skill I need to focus more on my self, Sorry I thought I included that in my comment before.
