Sometimes A Disaster Is Just What We Need
Here's My Story
Last week a Windows update created a problem with using my keyboard. So I took some advice from a valued friend and uploaded the Linux Ubuntu operating system. What a learning curve that was!!! Every thing I wanted to do required a new way of doing it.
This exercise took up a COMPLETE WEEK. I had to cancel my weekly Being Your Own CEO Success Circle because the programs I use to produce the show (Zoom and OBS) were not totally compatible. Cancelling the show felt terrible - the first in four plus years.
This being Monday, when I usually do some blog posting on one of my websites, found me floundering. What should I do? How should I catch up? Why does nothing feel right? I realized that I had lost my direction and focus.
Just What I Needed
So I spent the morning getting back to the basics and realizing that I need to simplify. First I collected all the outstanding ToDos into one place and then did a major desk tidy up. David Allen's Brain Dump technique has never let me down. I now feel as though I'm in control again.
The Big Ah-Ha Was
The Brain Dump helped me see that I was going in too many directions - too many things on the go. I'm now back to the main essential Goal that I had set ages ago. And I'm raring to go!

I hear you it can get like that when you try to make improvements to something and it throws you off course. Learning takes time away from blogging but hopefully it results in some progress.
