I got my fingers Burned: For Life or Temporary?

"Oops, we are sorry to inform you that you can no longer offer comments as most of your comments have been either disapproved or spammed," so it says on Site Comment 2.0.

I tried to offer as many comments as possible and have 3 out of 18 disapproved, and two or three waiting approval.

MY worry is which I need clarity on, I discovered you can be banned from offering comments, however I am worried that is this temporary for this particular month, week or day or is it permanent?

Secondly, how many times mistakes are allowed to be banned?

Next worry, if one offers comments within WA how is it spam and how would one know that their comments have been spammed, for being disapproved, it clearly indicates so.

Lastly this has been a learning curve for me as a newbie writer, so my advice is keep to the content, do not bring in any irrelevant comments though similar to the topic, and mostly do not criticize the technical stuff or the grammar, so reserve that for Site Feedback.

In conclusion I was targeting to reach 50 comments before month ends but I got my fingers burnt in the process.

Thus I do not know if I still stand chance this month or the rest of my life. I was only hoping to make some bucks as a newbie here, so who knows maybe some days in the future.

Cheers, and do not be haste doing things as it does n't usually turns out right!

Thank you guys for the support and advice, I will surely contact site support, something I didn't know if I can.

I know what you mean I did 2 comments and got one disapproved so I am not going to do comments for a while if I do them at all. Unlike you I too got my figure burnt too. I am only going to do feedback that seems easier for me that is.

Hi Lovisa,

I hope you learned your lesson! ----------- just kidding :-D

it happens the important thing is have you learned the difference between giving site feedback and offering site comments?

Site Comment is designed to improve the content by adding to the content or engaging with the author and allowing them to elaborate more on their topic of discussion.

While site feedback is not shown on the website after it is left and is designed to help the website owner enhance their site for better visitor appeal.

Hope you can get it lifted soon by doing as the others have recommended - contact site support.

Calvin

Hi Lovisa. Make sure you read the blog thoroughly. Your comments need to be aimed at the content of the article and nothing else. If you come across one you don't understand I wouldn't submit a comment. Jim

Sometimes doing a simple Google search helps too, if it's a topic you don't understand very well :)

You were likely banned because people disapproved your comments (and they usually do this because they find them low-quality).

Of course, they can edit comments, but if they edit ALL the comments, then it becomes time-consuming, so it's just easier to disapprove. After all, time is money and it's our businesses we're talking about. (Besides, some members actually pay $ for comments).

Newbies often make the mistake of leaving a feedback instead of engaging comments like "oh what a nice site" or comments like that that don't add value.

Lynne created a great tutorial on how to give quality comments: You can contact site support to get the ban lifted and then try your best to leave quality comments. If you become some sort of blog comments Star then you definitely won't be banned again in the future :)

great answer, study up on giving good comments and then ask to be allowed access again. It happened to me early on also.
