Dreams Do Come True

The year was 2001 I was a young teenager with the idea and question in my mind How did they do it? Do what you might ask? Earn a living online from my desk at home? This is where my earning money online journey began.

We didn't have a home computer and any resource I needed was too far away for me to reach. I asked every adult I knew my parents, peers parents, school counselors, teachers and other random adults. Only to discover that this dream could take years of college, wealth I didn't have and a lifetime of learning that I could never achieve.

I was even told by an unnamed someone that if Working online and earning and income at home were easily possible everyone would be doing it. I didn't think it would be easy and I was willing to do whatever it took. Everyone I knew all led me to believe that this goal wasn't attainable all, so once again my dream was crushed. I was told to flush it and move on so I did but never stopped dreaming about it.

Some years went on I was in my early years of high school and my brother finally purchased a home computer for my father who hilariously didn't even know how to turn it on. Now he builds them for fun but that's another story altogether.

I was ecstatic because finally I could get the info and learn what I longed to know. How to earn online? I was off and I tried everything possible from surveys to offers and also endless hours of referrals. I thought this was the way to earn money online and boy was I wrong as ever. I had now discovered that there were so many get-rich-quick scams and pyramid schemes that my own fear stopped me this time from pursuing my dream.

I did my research at the time and I had now discovered that I needed to build a website and figure out how to get affiliate links or click ads as they were called then. They were right I thought this would take a lifetime of learning to code and other initial learning before this could be possible. Also, lets face it technology at the time wasn't making this easy so once again my dream was crushed and flushed.

I moved forward again and eventually went into the work force learning many skilled trade jobs until I found that I was good at installing floors. I had a knack for it. Now I've been doing it for over 10 years and honestly I loved it then and love it even more now but it was never my dream.

Then it happened it was the last week of March 2020 I found an online earning platform prefer not to name that I could earn money by PPC and referrals so I thought finally this was real, this could be it and the money seemed right only to discover that it was a scam that I wasted 3 days of my life on. I didn't lose money but precious time, which time is money and in some cases worth more than money depending on how its spent.

Although I lost time in my panic learning about this scam reading reviews on this platform that were buried deep in the Google index. During my upsetting loss I uncovered Xarics article about Wealthy Affiliate as well. I had heard of it before but didn't have the skills or know how back then. So needless to say I joined right away. Now I can happily say I'm watching my dreams come true right before my eyes.

Moral of my story is to never give up and follow your dreams no matter what anyone says and no matter how scary it seems we can achieve anything we set our minds to if we work hard towards our goals.
