Hi! I'm Louise and I am based in the UK, but try and travel as often as I can, whether that's exploring new places in the UK or going much further afield! I'm easy going and love spending time with my family and friends. I'm very curious about the world, open to trying new things and I enjoy meeting like-minded people. I also enjoy yoga, long walks, wake boarding and diving.

I joined Wealthy Affiliate as I was interested in having another income stream, and a bit more freedom and flexibility. I worked for 12 years as a GIS Consultant (basically maps and statistics) which although I enjoyed, was never a passion. Just over a year ago, I decided I needed a change and took the (scary!) decision to quit.

I'm now teaching piano and writing my travel blog, both of which I absolutely love. In fact, my three big loves in life are music, food and travel - all of which I now have more time to experience and enjoy!

Wealthy Affiliate has been a tremendous help to me in so many ways - from the initial building and hosting of my website to all the wonderful training and community support that is ongoing and readily available. I don't think there's a better platform out there for those wanting to start their own online business!

I wish everyone that's part of this community the best of luck - let's help each other chase our dreams!

Hi Louise, thanks for connecting. I am following back and like yourself, I am here because I really don't want to work in a 9to5 setting. Having my online business may not mean shorter hours but at least I have the flexibility to take care of family and other needs. :)

Cheers,

Jude

Hi Louise! Wonderful to meet another diver and I'm following you now!! Whereabouts do you go diving in the UK?

Thank you for your comment on my dive site. I hope I answered your question.

Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with.

Wishing you much success here in Wealthy Affiliate!

Regards,
Monica

Thanks Monica! I've followed you back. It was great to see a dive website :)

It sounds terrible but I've never actually been diving in the UK! I lived in Dubai for 4 years so used to dive off the coast there and in Oman.....and other than that when I've been on holidays.

I recently got my advanced certificate in Australia and it has spurred me on to try and do more! There are lots of wrecks off the south coast of England which I would love to do and also quarry dives (which doesn't appeal quite so much....)

Thanks again! I wish you success too :)

Louise, nice to hear from you. I look forward to getting to know you my new WA friend.

You sound like my kind of person. i love a challenge. Sometimes I have to take a big breath before plunging in but the result is usually well worth it.

How is your website coming along?

Work hard, have some fun and don’t forget to ask questions.

A very nice boss once told me, ‘Helen, when you ask a silly question everyone else breathes a collective sigh of relief because they don’t have to!’ And that is so true. No question is silly so ask away.

If I can’t help I might be able to point you in the right direction.

Now let us keep in touch.

Louise, I see you are making some good progress through the Affiliate Bootcamp. Just wanted to pop by and see if you need a hand with anything?

I also wanted to mention the success rates of Bootcamp. Absolutely everyone that has taken action on all of the phases of Bootcamp has a business that is generating consistent income online. MANY of these folks are going to be at our super affiliate conference next year.

I want this to be you and I want you to succeed with your promotions. So, please promise me that if you ever need a hand or feel stuck as you move forward, that you will get in touch with me!

Trust me, I know things can be a little overwhelming sometimes and I don't want you feeling like that.

Anyways, just checking in. Get back at me if you need anything Louise.

Thanks Kyle. I'm really enjoying it so far. I did message you with a question I had about keywords - I only posted it two days ago so understand if you haven't had time to get back to me yet :)
Thanks for all the help so far, I'm really loving this community.

Keywords are the premise of all of your content. Ideally you will be finding keywords with a lower competition (also known as QSR) because it means that you are going to be competition with less websites in Google when you go to create your content.

You want your keyword to meet the following criteria:

(1) Must be lower than 200 QSR initially, as you get more authority in search engines you can tackle more competitive search terms.
(2) Must get some traffic, I ideally aim for over 50 searches per month
(3) Must make grammatical sense

I recently created training on how to come up with great keywords here and this is a strategy I have always used to build out my website Louise ... Once you have your keyword, you are going to create a page or a post on your website targeting that keyword. It should be within the following places in your content:

(1) Somewhere in the page/post title
(2) Somewhere within the first paragraph

And then write your content naturally and make sure it is engaging. People search "keywords" when they are looking for something so as you start getting ranked under these keywords, you are going to start to see traffic.

Once you have traffic...you have a ton of opportunity to generate revenue.

Hope this helps you out Louise!

Hi Kyle,

It was a bit more of a specific question - when searching for keywords in jaxxy, I presume the results are based on 'worldwide' searches? Do they take into account the searches people are doing worldwide (i.e. google.co.uk) and not just google.com etc?

I know it shouldn't matter as my website will end '.com' but it suddenly struck me that maybe your first page of google results varies depending on what country you are in (i.e. Prioritises domains ending with .co.uk if I'm in the U.K. etc)? Or does it have no bearing?

Any help gratefully received!

Thanks
Louise

Yeah,m they are worldwide searches and they take all search engines into consideration (as well as google.co.uk, etc)

If you want to target a global audience, you definitely want a .com domain. They are ideal, a co.uk won't rank well anywhere else other than the UK.

I always recommend .com's, in fact, being located in Canada I would even favour a .com over a .ca. here.

Hello Louise,♫Welcome! Nice to meet you ツ I wish you a lot of learning pleasure and fun on WA. Thank you for following me.

From the start, I have written training for every issue I had problems with myself. I also made a list of 1001 niche ideas, a checklist with 25 points to go through before you publish a post, 101 blogging ideas when you get stuck and an A-Z WA dictionary. I just love lists:) It has been very helpful to a lot of people. I have listed them in one blog you can find on my profile. It's the first website link on the right (click on my picture to get there). I hope to help you with those.

If you have any questions, please add a comment to this message or leave them on my profile.
Success building your business in 2016-2017. See you around, Greetings Loes

I hope things are going well. I know you are getting rolling within the training and there is ONE thing that always tends to confuse people and that is "what is my niche?".

I know, same thing happened to me when I started.

I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here if you ever want to run any niche "ideas" by me or you have any questions about finding your niche.

Get back to me when you get the chance! :)
