I have wanted to start a blog for years. I was always full of ideas and passions, but I was one of those unfortunates that spends lots of time researching, then setting up a free website somewhere that invariably takes forever, even though you've not even thought about SEO, then only gets 2 or 3 posts into the whole thing before hitting a wall, letting life take over, then realising it's been a week since you created a post. Nothing has been shared out over social media - you're just expecting the world to see it because you've done it - and your dusty site is riddled with tumbleweed. You lose motivation, interest, you use every possible excuse to not sit down for just 30 minutes and write.

And what happens? The blog dies. It's never seen by anyone. You lose heart. You get despondent. I has been there so many times.

Then I joined WA and got started. BOOM....1000 words per post target.

my heart sank. That was a lot of words. Did I really know enough about my chosen subject to be able to write 1000 words.

I was still in the midst of not having a specific focus. The penny hasn't quite dropped as to HOW I should be writing and WGAT I should be writing about and WHO I was writing for.

The words begun to flow. Now I'm finding myself reining my words in so I'm not nearly doubling that 1000 word target in one article. I'm learning how to take all of it and make separate posts and pages. Bite sized chunks of content....It's an exciting learning curve.

To think that only 3 weeks ago, I found that having to write 1000 words was a daunting prospect, buy now it's easy, which is just so encouraging and a testament to how much I have learned here and how my confidence grows daily.

Practise. Patience and persistence. To be better than I was yesterday, is my mantra. And to just keep writing. All the time, getting those ideas out there onto paper. Its a habit you are forming with this training too, and once you realise you can make or break ANY bad habit in just 21 days, it becomes a goal to foster the better ones.
