How do you explain ?

I have started my exciting new adventure here at WA and I am enjoying the learning. I am fortunate and blessed to have a lot of people who care about me, friends and family. The downside of this support is that it is easy to get swept away with some of their negative vibes. For instance my parents believe that everything on the internet is a scam and I am going to get ripped off. Luckily as much as I love my parents I also have my own strong beliefs about creating my own financial freedom in the long run. I reassure them that I am learning new skills like going to college ( Which I would have to pay for ). My friends ask what is affiliate marketing and I explain but I also advise that I am still learning and will keep them posted!

The proof is in the pudding as they say !!! The work that I put in will be the evidence.

Any tips for this new member on how they spoke of their adventures at the beginning would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Lorraine :)

Yo, first things first: This place is NOT a scam haha.
It is a business, for sure. And it is full of it's own tricks, no doubt.

For instance, the "Affiliate Boot Camp" stuff will teach you how to promote Wealthy Affiliate to other cats across the internet, no doubt. But that is where the "MLM" (affiliate/multi-level marketing) aspects of the website begin and end. You're not required to do any of that, it is totally optional.

I'll give you the short and simple of how to get things going well in 6 months to a year, if you're truly serious.

1. Get your site populated with "Problem Solving" content that is targeted to "Long-Tail" Keywords (Phrases which are equal to, or longer, than 3 words long) in the Header and first Paragraph of your articles.

2.Write reviews for products (or don't) that discuss the pros and cons of software, services, or products that will benefit the folk who are in the niche that you have chosen to create content for.

3.Sign up for an Email Auto-Responder Service (Like Aweber, Get Response, MailerLIte, etc [I use MailerLite, but they all do similar things]).

4.Create "Bait" to lure people to sign up for your "E-Mail" list. Bait can be anything from an E-Book that you write or buy the PLR (Private Label Rights) for to a "Free E-Mail Course" that you offer.

5.Sign up for an affiliate program like Amazon.com or whatever programs you can find in google by typing ([your niche] + affiliate program). Grab a link from that affiliate program that will install a cookie on the browser of whoever (browsing your site or email list) clicks on those links.

When people "Opt-In" to your email list to get the "Bait" that you've placed, you'll have the ability to legally (At least, in the United State) promote products to them with automated email sequences or "broadcasted" emails to your whole list.

As with anything in life, there are more than just this way to do things, but this is the general method employed by most folks in this sector.

Good luck yo!

Thank you so much this is really helpful and I love the practical tips which I will be following.
Thank you for taking the time to give me this information and for your expertise it is greatly received.
Kind Regards
Lorraine :)

C-Lab I like your advice to Loraine particularly because I too am in the Boot Camp niche.

Your remarks are very pertinent and a reminder to me of what I have to get done. I hope Loraine follows up on your advice.

I am now following you and wish you every success.

Rolie.

I agree with Kerry, Lorraine.
You just need to work hard and prove to yourself and they will see it. Same for me :o)

Haha. Thank you for your compliment, Lorraine! Cheers! :o)

Don't let anybody hold you back. Remember WA costs $1 a day (at premium level).
You could go to college and learn about marketing, but how much would that cost a day? And there are many college graduates who don't get their first choice of job after 3 or even 5 years. At least that is how it is here in Australia, and I imagine it is similar elsewhere.
I spent 6 months chasing shiny objects, and even after joining wa it took me another 10 months before I really stopped looking elsewhere for the answers that were right here under my nose.
I was finally able to say to hubby (my biggest critic) that I made my first $1. Oh Ok, he said and shook his head. Then I told him I earned another $8. Oh, he says what happens now?
My message, be patient. Keep on with the training and get that website going. The sooner you start and the more you post, along with posting on social media the sooner you will have an answer for your critics.
I just tell people that I am learning about all things related to websites. As I can usually answer their basic questions, they blink a couple of times and say OK, change of subject.

Thank you so much for the reply and the insightful information. This is really helpful and positive. You are completely right about the pricing for college etc. This has really helped me because I was also always looking for other shiny objects but I feel I have come to the right place here at WA and that is my focus.
Thank you once again,
Lorraine :)
