The Philippines β A country of Entrepreneurs
The Philippines β A country of Entrepreneurs
The Philippines is a country of over 106 million people, with a 94% literacy rate and over 70% of the population literate in the English language. Per capita income is over $3,000 and growing, with only a decline in recent months due to the Covid Pandemic. Women own almost 90% of all business in the Philippines, including some of the largest Corporations. The Philippines ranks 18th in the World for entrepreneurship, with the US still being number 1. Over 90% of all Internet searches in the Philippines are through Google, so Geotargeting of the Philippines is easy to do, and can reap great rewards, with the right offers. What is the βright offer?β Most likely one that offers Filipinos an opportunity to build a business or their own. But, there is also a huge market for high-end goods of all types, as the rich there love expensive things, just like everywhere else, I guess.
All told, there are millions of people in the Philippines seeking to start a business, and many of those speak and read English. It is a hotbed of small business owners, with huge numbers of young people seeking a better life through an Internet business.
Some of the largest companies in the World use the Philippines as their base of operations due to the high education levels and work ethic of the people. Many call centers and support centers are located there due to the good Internet structure and the English-speaking college graduates available for hire.
In short, it is a great place for Affiliate Marketing to prosper. Huge numbers of educated people with technical skills for building websites and marketing products, and a deeply felt driving desire to succeed make this a place of opportunity. Also, there is a long history of entrepreneurship in the country, for hundreds of years.
There is poverty in the Philippines, but it is slowly ebbing away as the education and income level rise. More and more young people have the chance to finish school and attend college, which has always held a high priority in Filipino households. Almost all have access to the Internet now, through phones, computers, and Internet Cafes. More and more Filipino-owned businesses are selling over the Internet, both locally and overseas. They see Internet Marketing at work daily in their lives, so they know what it is. All they need is to have a chance to learn how to do it.
Wealthy Affiliate is a company that teaches Affiliate Marketing effectively. It is also a place where people can meet others in the field of Affiliate Marketing, learning, and sharing. Even with the low per capita income of the populous, there is great demand for such training and opportunity in the Philippines. Reaching out to Filipinos is something that just makes sense, as a Win-Win, for the Entrepreneurs in Wealthy Affiliate, and the entrepreneurs and up-and-coming young people of the Philippines who want and need this training.

This is a really interesting post. I didn't know about that percentage regarding entrepreneurs in the Philippines.
The statistics are really enlightening
That you for these great insights
The numbers are huge there. The problem for people in the US is that the Philippines has become centered on China as a partner and a source of goods, jobs, and investments. This is bad for the Philippines, as China views the Philippines as a country of "Banana Sellers and Housegirls." The Philippines is a country with a highly educated population and one that believes in education and business ownership. It is a place that has a large group of wealthy people, and many millions of people that want to be wealthy.
I am aware of the educational aspect of the people of the Philippines.
Some of them are my work colleagues here in the UK.
I wasn't aware of their entrepreneur aspects.
Geotargeting your keywords is a very good idea. If you don't Geotarget then you are using a part of the money for searches originating from countries that have lower incomes and lower chances of actually buying the things your sell. That said, if you are actually advertising something that is useful for people in a given area that is poorer, say a business opportunity, then why not give it a shot. As long as it is low enough in cost that the people can afford it, and it is something they need or want, then they may well buy if it is of use for them.
But. all in all, use your paid search money to target the places that you have the greatest chance of a return, otherwise, you will make less money in the long run.
I choose to target the Philippines because I know the country, I believe there is a market there, and I accept the risk of not getting a high return because of my personal beliefs. Let your own beliefs and business sense be your guide as I do.
Hey
Are single geolocations on our WA blog posts beneficial for our businesses? Do you think I should write about other countries on my blog? I am North American will that make a difference?
Thank you.
Wishing you a terrific day.
