Where are my Baby Boomers

Here's what I know for sure:

* I'm getting old lol

* This world is changing at a fast pace

* Without technology, REALLY?

* If we didn't grow up with it, it may be foreign to us

* We are used to much simpler times.

* The internet scares the #2 out of me.

* Yes, I need my hand held

* Yes, Literally

Okay so this is the deal.. I am 58, I'm getting close to retirement age. I've lost my life savings..Either I was scammed, or I lost it all in the stock market crash. It doesn't really matter at this point. What Am I Going To Do?

I grew up thinking we work our butts off for 40+ years, then you can relax the rest of your life and do as you choose.

That is all I knew because that is all I was taught. We are all in the same boat. If you are a baby boomer and you are set for life, then you would be 3-5% of all the baby boomers.

The direction the world is going, surely we are doomed. We dont know computers, and we are technically inept.

So what can we do? Our government over taxes us. Social Security has turned into a joke. The average American in retirement is now expected to live off $800-1200 a month. Oh sure, and try to reap all the fruits of your labor? NOT!

Then I came across this.

Wealthy Affiliate is a platform dedicated to affiliate marketers a there is no limit to your potential.

**Wealthy Affiliate TEACHES traffic. They know the best strategies and techniques to get your website ranked and do it in abundance!

But When Do I Make Money?

You have a niche, a website, and traffic, but you have nothing to sell to these people right?

Well, actually you do. There are over 500,000,000 (yes, 500 MILLION) products that you can promote as an affiliate marketer online. This means you don’t have to carry any inventory for any of these products/services. You simply link to companies through your special affiliate links, and exchange and they give you a percentage of every sale that you make.

This can range from pennies, to $1,000’s of dollars for every sale.

They walked me through step by step and I had my website build and live in day 3.

I have paid for many, many trainings that say hand held, done for you. But thats not the case here. My last training I spent over 4k. Then they charged for everything else too. Your website hosting, your website, your SEO, and whatever other things nickel and dimed you to death.

I have learned more in just my 1st week here at Wealthy Affiliate. I honestly know that if I can do this, you can too.

I'm glad you are enjoying your WA journey. I wish you all the best.

Hang in there, Lisa-Marie!

Jeff

Needs some work? Yes thank you

Synonyms depending on context. They are interchangeable.

Hi Philip, not sure what you mean?

Oh I see

Hi Lisa,

Your story sounds very close to my heart because what you described I wrote about in my profile bio.

Being at Wealthy Affiliate is like having a breath of fresh air.

BTW you have a head start on me by about 15 years. You got this!

I wish you all the success in the world.

Thanks Edwin

Im confused as to what content goes on webite or blog, or are they the same?

I will assume you mean website not webite.

Generally you write 'articles'. How you want to present them is where the content is placed. There are many opinions on 'articles'. Just type in blogs versus articles in your search engine to get confused.

To me I just refer to them all as articles but that is my own choice.

For me, Pages tend to be Main Menu headers. Here I put information relevant to my website that tends to only need a bit of editing occasionally. Ie the info rarely changes.

For example, one of my sites promotes eReaders. Well the overall writing doesn't change but new eReaders are often introduced. So I edit my Page to either remove obsolete ones and/or introduce new ones. But I don't detail the new ones.

Then I write a post blog giving all the information on the new eReader. So I have a main Page, off which I link to Posts.

Here's a link to a good explanation of Page versus Post.
https://www.shoutmeloud.com/wordpress-pages-vs-posts.html

One bit of this explanation is:
"WordPress posts are for timely blog posts and have a publish date
WordPress pages are for timeless static content and don’t have a publish date"

Posts and blogs tend to be used interchangeably but it seems blog by itself isn't really correct. If you aren't writing a Page then the best terminology is Blog Post.

I’m afraid I’m more confused now. Thanks tho

Thought you might be! Can you give me a bit more information on where your confusion lies.

Hi Helen, after going thru a bit more, Im hoping my clarification is on point. I think if I just want to write something, it can be a post, but if it is focused on my website content and offers value then, it should be published on website?

The article you shared was very helpful too. Thanks for clarifying

Yes. Anything you write can be either a post or page. All can be on your website and published.

Try and keep some relevancy to your niche but you can through the odd post in that just you expressing yourself. Usually you can tie this into your niche.

Go to my profile and take a glimpse around some of my two websites.
