How Do You Tackle Your Work?
I enjoy my WA work and look forward to it. But sometimes I feel like I need a jump start to get me motivated, especially if my next task ahead seems daunting or intimidating.
When I’m feeling this way, I find it helpful to first sit down for a few minutes and do what I call my “inspirational readings,” and I usually end up stumbling on to a chapter or passage that is just what I needed to get me motivated. I found myself procrastinating this morning to get on my laptop and pick up where I last left off in my WA education, so I opened the book I’m reading now and, sure enough, I found this poem that is just what I needed to hear:
How do you tackle your work each day?
Are you scared of the job you find?
Do you grapple the task that comes your way
With a confident, easy mind?
Do you stand right up to the work ahead
Or fearfully pause to view it?
Do you start to toil with a sense of dread
Or feel that you’re going to do it?
What is the thought that is in your mind?
Is fear ever running through it?
If so, just tackle the next you find
By thinking you’re going to do it.

Thank you, Edgar, for your motivating words of wisdom! I am passing this poem along to my fellow hard-working, dedicated WA students and entrepreneurs in hopes that if you needed a jump start today, this poem gave you a little push the way it did for me.
Are you feeling motivated? Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for the poem, I am reading it today, Monday August 1st, a new beginning in a week and in a month.
Mondays for me is catch up day, as I usually take a day of rest on Sundays. And it is a day I set aside for doing some of my housekeeping.
But it is also a day for getting myself motivated after a weekend. A new start.
I tackle My work the same way you would tackle a job. I work set hours and sometimes I put in a little over time to complete a task.
I'm not that easily intimidated as my mind is like a sponge when it comes to learning new skills. I always look forward to my daily tasks, as they are for my benefit, not my bosses.
It is very motivating to know that we're working towards our own goals and not our boss's goals. Thanks for commenting!
