I feel so happy tonight that I can't wait sharing my BIG success wih you!

Good News - I manage to get my website page speed as 100/100 (desktop) on Google Page Speed Insight!

I know website speed is important for google ranking, so I do quite a lot of research to understand how to improve the website speed and what kinds of plugins I should install to achieve this. As I am not a technical person and don't have a computing background, understanding all these kinds of things are quite hard for me. However, if you do not give up on finding solutions when you are facing difficulties, you will realize that you learn more than you think! The day of your success will come!

Here is my website speed on Google Page Speed Insight!

My mobile speed is not really stable but in a good range so far. I feel like it is really hard to improve the mobile speed.

I also use GTmetrix to do a test tonight. Here is my best result so far. Obviously, GTmetrix uses different criteria to test the website page speed from Google Page Speed Insight. Both of them are good tools to check your website performance.

You may wonder how many plugins I activate on my WordPress. Indeed, I have 30 plugins activated on my WP panel for this website. However, when I choose which plugins to use, I do good research first. I will test those plugins on a website that I don't use much then decide whether it is good to install it on this website. I need to make sure those plugins I use are lightweight and help improve my website performance!

Here are the plugins that I use to optimise page speed for my website.

1. Autoptimize

( I tick the following boxes for the following options in Autoptimize)

- Optimize JavaScript Code
- Aggregate JS-files
- Also aggregate inline JS
- Optimize CSS Code
- Aggregate CSS-files
- Also aggregate inline CSS
- Optimize HTML Code
- Save aggregated script/css as static files
- Minify excluded CSS and JS files
- Also optimize for logged in users
- On the extra section:
Google Fonts (Combine and link in head (fonts load fast but are render-blocking)

2. WP-Optimize

- I select all the boxes and optimize it from time to time. Remember to back up first.

3. Kraken Image Optimize
r (Thanks Kyle and Carson get this on the new website!)

4. WP switft page
- Turn on 'Set Expires Date for Static Resources'
- Turn on 'Enable Keep-Alive'

(This is an external plugin that I installed on wordpress. If you like to use it, you can send me a message here or on Facebook then I will send this plugin to you.)

Addition steps:

- I also turn my site speed to extrame on Site Plus within WA dashboard.
- Most of the images I use TinyPng to compress first before I uploaded it to my media library.
- As I have Kraken Image Optimizer, I don't need to install resmush.it or EWWW Image Optimizer. However, if you install your website before Kyle introudced Kraken, you will need to install the plugin to optimise your image.

All in all, I know it is still a long way for me to earn money online but this is my first step to get closer to success! I just want to let you know that it is really possible to achieve 100-page-speed score on Google!

I know we all have a difficult time in affiliate marketing. Never give up. There may be tough times but the difficulties you face will make you more determined to achieve your targets and to win against all the odds.

All the best,
Lin

Thanks for sharing, all the best
Darren :)

Thanks Darren! All the best to you too :)

Congrats to you. My site speed hovers around the high nineties, depending where i test it. I agree with you that load speed is VERY important.

Thanks! Yes, I also find that the website speed is varied between different speed test website. I am glad to know that you also get around the high nineties on your website. Congrats!

OOPS! I hadn't checked my speed for some time. Your post prompted me to recheck - and it's plummetted!
Seems I have some work to do.

Yes, sometimes I find my speed drops too so need to keep an eye of it from time to time! Maybe clean the cache or remove the old revised draft posts would help.
