Success. what does it mean
I'm sure all individuals have their own definition of what success mean. I will give you the definition of what the dictionary says success is and then I will give you my personal definition of success later in this post. As noted, success is the accomplishment of an aim or a purpose.
My personal meaning of success started taking on meaning or was coined when I finished high school. My first year of college, I started out as an English major. I had an overwhelming desired to learn how to write. Of course, as an English major, students are given the opportunity to indulge into many writing courses on all different levels. The opportunity to write intrigued me the most. As time went on though, I realized that I wanted to learn more. I need more in order to for fill other needs and wants of being successful. Being an English major at that time was not helping me with my parental responsibilities during this time as I was young mother of four children. YEP! Married and divorced all by the age of twenty one, I still possessed a desire to be successful. After realizing English was not going to give me a quick career, i set out on a quest to learn what success really meant. So I invested in self development class which in the beginning discusses success. It also included a curriculum that outlined the steps that one has to take in order to reach success. As promised at the beginning of this post, my definition of success is over coming many obstacles, yet maintaining integrity and moving forward with great determination to obtain the best outcome.

I really do love your blog and I remember that even when I was in grade school I was distinctly aware of various definintions of success applied to me by others, none of which seemed to corrolate with my own.
Linda,
I take off my hats to you, young lady. Especially so, your guts, zeal and determination to succeed. Persevere, young lady and you will succeed.

Hi Linda, welcome to WA, I followed you and I like your story. Thank you for sharing. Personally, success means over coming my own self limiting beliefs that some how sabotage my efforts to excell. I need income to live like everybody else but discovering my fears and conquering them one by one; is my kind of success.
If you've got four kids and you're still standing and dreaming and moving forward, I'd say you're a success already. Be persistent, the money will take care of itself. Good fortunes to you.

thank you for sharing your story,
Earl Nightengale has a definition for success that I use,
"Success is the Progressive Realization of a Worthy Ideal"
so what is the worthy ideal that you are working towards?
all the best,

Linda, success is never giving up regardless of the situation. It's your committment to your goal. Here at WA quitting is not an option.
Thanks. I believe that whole heartedly.
