Keeping my brain active
I try to keep my brain active, but since having a heart attack last Novembe (2020), which left me with a leaky aorta valve that has to be fixed in the next month or two, my focus has been on just staying alive until my valve can be replaced. It was supposed to be fixed in February, but I got Covid. in February and that surgery has been put off till April. So for a few months, I have been unable to focus on anything except keeping my heart calm and not agitated.
In this troubled world, just try to not get anxious when your heart starts racing and you struggle to breathe. My world has turned upside down and inside out. Consequently, I have not even been able to put two words together to make any sense.
This heart problem was then complicated by both my husband and me getting Covid. Thankfully, it did not go to my lungs and remained in my head. Were it affecting my lungs and causing me to cough, it probably would have killed me. "Tender mercies" from the Lord above are all I can say.
Our energy level has evaporated, gone away, completely disappeared, I start to think I am getting better and then make my way to the bathroom and find my heart beating faster and struggling again to breathe. Eventually, we probably will look back on our life in 2021 and find humor in it, but for now, it is earthshattering.
One advantage to all this disturbance in my life is the fact that I have lost 20 pounds of the body I used to have. 20 lb. is not really very much, considering my weight is 100 lb too much, but hey, I'll take it. Both my husband and I have had no appetite and are just now getting a desire for FOOD again! Thank goodness for chicken noodle and bean with bacon soup
Since we probably are not getting any true nutrition from the food we are eating, my kind neighbor suggested I try taking a product made up of 20 fruits and veggies. She has taken it for 17 years and swears by it, so she brought a few gummies and some capsules for us to try.
I can truly say my brain fog is lifting. Instead of being Soooo tired that when I sit down my eyes close and Zzzzzz I'm asleep, I can now stay awake for a few hours each day now. Heck, I'm writing this blog, and it's the first time I have been able to write about this whole scenario.
My husband is experiencing more energy, but still tires quickly when he gets up to perform menial tasks. I'm not surprised that he is so lacking in energy, as Covid went to his lungs and he has coughed and coughed. I will be writing an article about our approach to handling Covid on my health website. We are both over 77 in age, so you know it hit us hard, but thankfully there are therapeutics we can take and it doesn't have to end our life.
As to my websites and activity in Wealthy Affiliate, my goals have not changed, I just put them on hold for a time. The important thing now is to allow my heart to heal and then I can resume my efforts as energy allows.
Thanks, everyone for your prayers on my behalf. There's power in combined concern for our fellow WA'ers. Blessings to you all.
Love
Linda

So sorry to hear this, Linda! Your neighbor was probably right. What does she have you taking if you don't mind my asking. It sounds like good stuff!!!
Take it easy and do what you can do. WA is always here and you can catch up when you get your bearings. Your health is more important. Thanks for checking in though.

Thanks for your comments. I agree totally that my health comes first. Without your health you have nothing. I sent you a PM about the product I'm taking. Thanks and Blessings to you.

Glad you're well on the road to recovery, Linda!
I, too, had Covid, and I was exhausted each night for the next month. I had no underlying conditions when I caught it, so that could definitely have played a role in my recovery time. You'll get there, I've no doubt!
Congrats on losing 20 lbs! Though you found a tough way to do it, bottom line is that's behind you now. Keep up the good work there as well, and your heart will be in much better shape before you know it.
Thanks, Jeannine. Sorry you had this stuff too, but glad you made it through, I'm counting on getting a new heart adding many long years ahead to accomplish my dreams.
Wow, Linda. I'm very pleased that you are both beginning to be able to realise how far you have come since February.
I hope that your operation takes place when you expect and is successful.
Covid knocked you both down and you got up again. From there the only way is up!
:-)

Hey thanks, Richard. Your encouragement is well taken and as you said "the only way to go now is up."
Blessings

So sorry to hear how much trouble you have had with COVID-19. I hope you feel better soon.
Do let me know how you are doing with your brain fog. I'm sure I'll be able to suggest some brain exercises for you.
