Happy Father's Day
Just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to all the father's in our community. One of the best memories of my Dad is that he was a great story teller of things he had done in his younger years. He told his stories many times through my lifetime and I always laughed cause he was so good at telling them.
My Favorite Story
My father was a bit of drinker when he was younger. One night while he was in the bar, my mother went in to get him. They came outside to talk, my mom, not being a happy camper at this time, got in the car to drive away. As, she closed the door my dad's jacket got caught in the door.
It was in the summer, so she had her window down. She drove off with my dad hanging on the door rim and his feet flopping along the way trying to hold on.
A police office happened to drive by and pulled her over. When, the officer got to her window he said." Madame, is this man trying to molest you?"
She responded, "No sir that's my husband."
The officer then said, "Well madame, don't you think you should let him ride in the car?"
Proud Of My Father
Just to let you know there is a happy ending! My Father and Mother were married for 62 years. And at one point in my Father's life he was on the Oregon Drug and Alcohol Committee for Urban Indians.
Just goes to show, we never know where I lives may lead us, and we all learn as we go through life, it's up to us how we use that knowledge. I wish everyone much success with the knowledge they gain.
Hope you enjoyed my Father's story!
