True Confession of a WAholic

What would you call someone who:

  • goes to bed at 3am
  • dreams of ways to increase their writing potential
  • dreams of new ideas for posts on their site
  • wakes up hours later anxiously desiring to reopen his/her laptop to WA?

Would you call that an addiction? Well, I am making a True Confession. I'm totally, absolutely hooked on Wealthy Affiliate! I've become a WAholic! Oh wait, did I just coin a word? Or has someone already beat me to it. LOL

Psychologists say that it takes at least 21 days for a habit to form. Since I've been here just over a month, I suppose it's happened to me, too. I'm forming a WA habit! I look forward to returning here day after day.

Sometimes I don't want to go out to visit friends and family thinking it will take away precious time I could be brainstorming here @ WA. My dear husband even knows where to find me most of my waking hours at home.....you got it, sitting in front of my laptop working on my blog or interacting within the community. Is that normal?

I don't know whether it's due to the desire to be creative and helpful or my aloneness that keeps me here for hours on end. You know we are multi-faceted people with the need to express ourselves in one way or the other. Maybe WA is providing that way out for me. It's a fun place to be, I believe.

Just know that as you proceed on your journey:Wealthy Affiliate can and probably will become habit forming for you, too. Before you know it, you could become a WAholic like me!

Take care eveyone.....LinaB

Your not alone!! Sounds similar to my new routine. :) The pursuit of, "The day you find something that you love, you will never work a day in your life." WA is that start.

The beginning of that journey. I think that's why I have that addiction also. It's not a bad thing. It's a journey with thousands of miles ahead of us. We're in the results business and that's what we seek, and the knowledge is here.

Just doing the knowledge, even if it's on ignorance will produce results. Even failing or making mistakes along the way, but keep producing results. Eventually you will get to a better place.

Grab a niche and run with it. Others will be discovered, even ones you are more passionate about. But starting with one is better than none.

I think about all the businesses that started in one area and then later blossomed into many new niches. Amazon.com is one of many stories, I believe. Look at how they started and now look at the many areas they expanded into.

We've got 93 more days before the December 1st deadline for Las Vegas 300!!! :)

I know the feeling! Don't get between me and my WA, lol :)

Josorei.....lmho

This is a great post and one I totally relate to!
Dont really do the 3am thing now......I'm nodding off at 11 haha. However I regularly am up at five am, even though I don't have to as dont have a "normal" job......and I have been known to avoid visiting folk. That bit did make me laugh out loud, literally !!)

This is so me T____T Not by choice. I admit I have an addiction to knowledge >.> -cough- always learning -cough- However being up til 3am isn't completely my fault xD I get off at 12am and have decided I shall make the most of my time >.O leaving me up until 4 or 5am. Yet there's a need for commitment. Success requires sacrifice >.> I can always take cat naps or workout to re-energize :3

I'm enjoying the addiction. New ideas everyday and dreams about my success. You're more than welcome to come visit my dreams n__n I tend to go to the spa a lot.

P.S. If you make a support group called WAholics Anonymous, I'd join :P

It takes 21 days for a habit to form? By then I will probably have taken this way too far. I am still in my first 7 days trial and totally into it. Soon there will be nothing more to learn in the free classroom so I guess I'll just have to upgrade to premium. Lol

Yes, WA can be addictive, Lina, you need to keep a balance, lol. ;))

I guess it does not matter how something is good, you need to know boundaries. Because you will burn out. Just discipline can help to achieve what you want and at the same time will let you not to loose your contact with outer world. Best wishes:)
