is awesome, I love to do it and I love to have the knowledge and talent to do it without any CMS system that is limiting me to a layout or bind me to a functionality of its own.
And what is even greater than developing own layouts and page designs, is to be able to create own applications for the web. Which means, logics, dynamics, changes and customer usability is completely free for me to design and create.
