Reaching New Heights

Hello all you amazing WA friends! I joined in September this year, so I'm coming up on almost 3 months of being a memeber. I have reached the point in my training where I get to share what I've accomplished so far with my Wealthy Affiliate journey.

The niche I picked was a pretty easy one for me to figure out. I've had a passion for running ever since I was 3 feet nothing, so I made a website for running for beginners. As we've been learning, a niche is something a group of people are interested in, and running is a constant growing number, so I feel good about helping people get started in the same thing that I love too.

Progress and Success

I'm happy to say that for the first time, I have built my very own website and own it as my own domain. I never thought I'd have my own website and would be posting my own blogs, but it's been fun, learning how to build one out, writing content for my niche, and I get tickled pink when someone actually comments on one of my posts.

I feel like a very small fish in a big pond, but it's okay. I still get excited, because I've seen my ranking go down from the high 40,000's to the low 20,000's. I know I have to start somewhere, so starting from the bottom isn't so bad, knowing I've done a lot to slowly work my way up.

It feels pretty cool that a big player like Google, has my website ranked. I keep seeing member's post of being ranked #1 in Google. I'm looking forward to that day when I work to that level.

I still haven't made a dime, but I'm still enjoying myself, and know the building blocks takes

time to build a solid foundation, especially something so grand as building my own online business. I know I'm in it for the long haul.

Challenges Along the Way

I've had a good time learning what I've learned so far, building my website, and writing out content. However, lately I've also had some dips along the way.

I've been feeling so consumed and brain dead with my day job (I'm a teacher for 1st and 2nd graders) and putting in more hours, stretching myself thin that when I get home I don't feel motivated to "do more work" with Wealthy Affiliate or my website. I would appreciate any sharing of tips, encouragement, and/or something to motivate me when things feel tough to keep going and stay on track.

Something else I finding challenging is it takes me too long to get all my content done to publish my posts. I remember Kyle saying to put aside 30-60 minutes of uninterrupted time to write another post. I worked on doing that as my goal, but it took me waaaay longer to do it - days even! He also said something like writing out quicker is better than being too perfect. That's a struggle for me. I would love for you to share anything you think would help me in this area.

Thank you so much in advance for any feedback or help!

Three Month Goals
  1. Spend 10-20 quality hours a week working on WA.
  2. Write six more posts. (I'm not sure what a reasonable amount of posts are within a week, month etc.), but I feel like that's a good place to start for me). Any input on this would be super appreciated!
  3. Finish out up to Level 5 training.
  4. Help as many people as I can from my website and also on Wealthy Affiliate.
  5. Make my first sale on my website.
  6. Help my first active referral on WA.
  7. Learn from my mistakes and improve on them in the next three months.
Six Month Goals
  1. Start another niche website
  2. Consistently working 10-20 hours a week on WA.
  3. Get a high ranking within Google, Bing or Yahoo.
  4. Help my own 5-6 active referrals on WA.
A Big THANK YOU!

The cover photo I usedspeaks for itself. I can't leave here without saying, THANK YOU, to all of you who have helped and suppported me along the way, helping me get to where I am now. Thank you for showing me what it means and looks like to help each other out here in the WA Family. I hope your businesses are getting blessed and doing well for paying it forward.

Hi Liana,

I can relate with you - I work long hours during the day with very few hours left over in the evenings.

When I do find time to work on my material - either late night or early the next morning - I have to put on a large pot of coffee to stay caffeinated and motivated. Some days I can get two hours in. Other days, barely a half-hour - but it's better than nothing at all.

I get worn out, tired and frustrated on certain days, but I don't beat myself up incase I miss a day or two. I just rework my tasks and plans for the next day and move on the best I can.

Great post and great progress. Keep it up!

Isaiah 😊

Hi Isaiah,

Sorry for getting back to you so late on here Thank you for taking the time to read my post and also leave me a comment. I appreciate you sharing your experience with time too. Working on my website is always on my mind to want to do if I'm still doing stuff for my job. I like how you shared that you don't beat yourself up if you miss a day or two, and moving on the best you can. I will do the same too.

Thank you,
Liana

It's all good. Happy I was able to encourage you some 😊

Goes both ways. Thank you too. I see you have a plan ready. Go for it!

Cheers,
Stanley

Thank you, Stanley. I need to make sure to stick to my plan and post it up so I can see it to remind me. You've probably gotten really good at sticking to your plan too. You go for it too.

Blessings,
Liana

Yes, I am going for it in 2020 with many here in WA. Glad you are coming along.

How wonderful! You're doing great!!!

Thank you!

Hi Liana ... I have followed you and wanted to comment on your post ... your task list is very good, it gives you a roadmap to complete the steps to success.
Motivation however comes from within ... I posted an article recently called , perhaps it will be helpful to you, in rediscovering your internal motivation, for what you are doing!
It can also be applied to your teaching duties ... reclaim your Why and start enjoying life more.
Allan
