I Will Ask The Questions Here!

Even though many would consider you to be late, I am going to ask you some of the important questions that you must ask yourself to get ready for the year 2021.

  1. 1. Did you achieve all that you wanted to achieve in 2020?
  2. 2. Could you have achieved more?
  3. 3. What did you not achieve in 2020 that you wanted to achieve?
  4. 4. Why did you not achieve what you wanted to achieve in 2021?
  5. 5. Are you going to do the same thing this year as you did last year?

Did you achieve all that you wanted to achieve in 2020?

If you achieved all that you wanted to achieve in 2020, congratulations and sorry you did not achieve all that you should have. I think (and this is my opinion) you should always have unfinished business. Always set your goals hire than you think you can achieve. Just as you should always leave them wanting more.

Could you have achieved more in 2020?

Of course, you could have. I want you to just think of all the times that you quit what you were working on early because you were tired, had enough for the day, or just did not feel like doing anymore. I am not knocking you for it, just pointing out that there was some time that you left on the table to accomplish more. We all have to take a break and there is no shame in doing so. We say that we will “Make it up”, but we can’t. Unless you have found the actual “Time Warp”, you cannot go back in time. Consider it done for the day.

What did you not achieve in 2020 that you wanted to achieve?

Have you come up with the excuses, I mean reasons why? More importantly, have you analyzed why what you did, attempted to do, or were afraid to do, did not work? There is no shame in not reaching your goal. The shame comes with quitting or giving up. One of my favorite quotes that I have blogged about is “Forget the mistake, but remember the lesson”. We can sometimes learn just as much from our failures as we do our triumphs.

Why did you not achieve what you wanted to achieve in 2021?

As I previously stated, there is no shame in not achieving your goals, the shame comes form giving up, not investigating what went wrong, or even more detrimentally quitting!!! Start thinking about what you could have done differently, how you could have planned better, or how you could have had the courage to at least try. A lot of the time, it is the “not trying” that got in the way. You were afraid to fail, did not believe in yourself enough, or sadly believed someone who told you “You can’t do that”.

Guess what??? It is not too late. This whole post was not meant to get on you, kick you while you were down, or highlight what you did not accomplish. It was merely a reminder that it is never too late to get going on sometimes, an old plan. I know we are all getting older, some think that their prime has passed them, and others are just losing that “Edge” that they need to succeed. These are all excuses and the reason why we are having this discussion. Like you, I am guilty of a lot of what I have stated. But I am “Learning from my Mistakes”, “Regrouping”, or just plain “Getting my _ _ _ _ together”. This year is going to be different. I am going to set my goals and I am also going to achieve my goals. I have the plan on how NOT to achieve them. I am going to give the alternative plan a try this year!!!

Did you notice I did not ask Question#5 over again? That is because if you got anything out of this article, you realized that I should not be asking that question, you should be asking the questions!!!

If you like this quote, pass it on to someone that you know that may need a pick-me-up today. It may be a difference and one way that you are helping make the world a better place today.
