Do You Use Your Fingers & Toes to Count?

With the holidays upon us, everyone is anxiously counting the days until Santa delivers presents, the Menorah has been lit for seven days, and Kwanza has finished. The problem is that while doing that you cannot just wait for these things to magically make life better. Even though the religious aspect can bring much joy to people of all backgrounds and belief systems, it is what you do on a daily basis that will determine how enjoyable your holiday season will be.

It is no secret that we have had a crazy year. With the Coviod-19 pandemic, racial unrest, and the little “political” election that we had, it has been a mental nightmare. They say the holidays are a time to sit and reflect on how the year has gone and prepare for the upcoming year. I say we have to change that thought this year more than ever. Based on life in general, you should know that by now, if you sit around waiting for things to happen, you are probably setting yourself up for a bad time. To quote one of my idols …

Don’t Count the days, Make the days Count!!!

Muhammed Ali

Get up (while relaxing in a cozy recliner, snacking on your favorite Christmas cookies, sipping eggnog, or whatever you do while relaxing), start thinking about what YOU CAN DO for the new year, and get ready to make things happen. I know we have to be safe, but that does not mean that we have to lay down, be lazy, and feel sorry for what we can’t do. We have to concentrate on what we can do and get ready to do it. With the vaccine on the horizon and the hope of getting back to normal, do not wait for it to be over to start planning. Make your plans and new year’s resolutions now!!!

I love this quote. In this time of our life we need to show that we are always prepared. This is how our state of our mind should be.
