Great question and something that I was wondering about yesterday. Now I do not have to ask the same question as it Gregory answered it :)
@Maverick, thanks for asking this q as I was curious about this myself.
@Gregory, thanks for answering it visually ~ the screenshot told a few less than 1000 words, though more than enough for this visual learner.
You need to go into your WordPress admin and on the left hand side find Settings -> then Reading Settings . At the top of the page change the setting to a static page. Then use the dropdown menu to select your page which is your home page.

Got it! :) and also, I made another page which will be the new blog roll page. Then just take out the old "blog roll" page from the admin menu tab.
