Final Week of Work — A New Chapter Begins Soon
Final Week of Work — A New Chapter Begins Soon
It’s officially here — my final week of working for someone else.
This Sunday feels a little different. There’s a sense of excitement, a bit of nervous energy, and a whole lot of appreciation for the journey that got me here. In just a few days, I’ll be stepping into the next chapter:
working for myself full-time and building the life I’ve been preparing for.
For years I’ve balanced work, YouTube channels, Amazon Influencer videos, multiple websites, and everything else on nights and weekends. Now I get to take all of that and finally give it the time and focus it deserves.
I’m calling this my working retirement — not slowing down, but shifting my energy into my own projects, my own schedule, and my own future.
And honestly?
I couldn’t be more ready.
Here’s to the final week of one chapter…
and the first steps into a brand-new one.
Have you experienced your final week before "retirement"? What was it like?

My final week at work was similar to most of my last weeks before the summer break. I was working at an Oxford University department and we always closed for the month of August. I just worked until the end of July. But then my life changed completely. I had taken early retirement to help look after my grandson when my daughter went back to work. I loved looking after him one or two days a week and then also after my granddaughter when she came along. Best decision I ever made.
Wish you all the best on your new journey. You have prepared the path... Enjoy!
My last week of working for someone else was extremely busy as I also had to train my replacement.
My last day was Monday, Sept 22, 2014.
On Wed Sept 24, 2014, I arrived at my new home in Cebu, Philippines and have been here for 11 years so far.
I'm happy to see you are finally arriving to complete freedom to live your life your way!
To Your Success!

You are most welcome Les.
Time seems to fly a bit too fast for me now. We just have to make the most of each day.

Great post. You certainly prepared yourself to have a “working for yourself” retirement. I did exactly the same strategy! We are blessed!
Thanks! I would say the big advantage I have is being born in the USA with lineage that goes back to the mid-to-late 1800s. Everyone worked hard to get what they had and I've been no different. It definitely was not handed to me.

How exciting! I've just been thrown into a 'Burn the boats" situation with my husband being ill. I was still doing DoorDash as a full time income, but this last month I've been his full-time caregiver and will be for the unknown future. So i'm all in on the online business for income! Here's to a new chapter!🥂
Thanks! Wish you and your husband the best!
