It is also a choice.
If you wait for your circumstances to change to be happy, you'll miss the gift of joy today. If you wait to look better, lose weight or get a better job, you'll miss the gift of today. If you wait for the perfect relationship or a bigger house, you'll miss out on experiencing joy today. You can choose to be happy and choose to smile, or you can wait.
Don't wait to be happy.
I choose to smile. I choose to be happy, today. My life is not perfect, by any means, but it is my life, and I choose for it to be awesome! I am not always bubbling with happiness, and that is ok. I am real. I am honest with myself about things I want to change. I move forward, making positive changes in my life, and smiling along the way.
For the most part, I am happy. I enjoy my life because I choose to enjoy my life. I choose to smile and I choose happiness.
Smiling is freedom. It frees me to enjoy my day, knowing I am doing my best and that while things are not perfect, it's my choice and my gift to enjoy the journey.
Today I encourage you to smile. Enjoy your day. Smile at a friend. Smile at a stranger. You can do it and you may just learn to love it.
Happiness, like many things in life, is a habit.
