My Second Month at Wealthy Affiliate: Navigating Challenges and Consolidating Growth
Iโm already in the second month of my journey building my online presence and business. Undoubtedly, this month has had fewer "explosive novelties" than the previous one. However, this doesn't mean it's been a quiet month. Many interesting things have happened, and, as in any entrepreneurial path, great challenges have also appeared. Let's get to it!
What I've Achieved
- Content Consolidation: I've continued publishing posts on my website. I now have 20 published posts and 12 drafts. To be completely honest, I would have had more publications if it weren't for some unexpected difficulties that arose along the way and required my immediate attention. You'll know what I'm talking about in a moment.
- Finally, the Right Email Marketing Platform! After some back and forth, I've finally found the ideal email marketing platform for me: Kit. I love its modern, intuitive design, and above all, its simplicity and practicality. It's incredibly easy to understand how everything works. Despite its apparent simplicity, I know it has enormous potential, and I'm just beginning to explore all its functionalities. This step has been crucial. Previously, I tried to use MailerLite, but the authentication didn't work. Then I moved to Substack. What I discovered is that Substack is not an email marketing platform in the traditional sense, but rather a social network with the option to receive posts in your inbox. When I tried to apply a more active email marketing strategy there, my account was suspended without prior notice. I spent a week of total uncertainty until, fortunately, my account was returned to me.
- AI in the WA Community: The wait for my Kit account authentication was approximately one week. Given the long delay, I posted a question in the Wealthy Affiliate community, asking if anyone else had experienced something similar. The first response I received was generic and generated by AI, without taking into account the particularity of my question and the reason I was asking, it was something I could have produced myself using ChatGPT. This is not an answer based on the user's personal experience. When I pointed all of this out to the author, they withdrew their response. However, this experience quite displeased me, as my question was very clear, and the response was disappointing. I sincerely hope that the quality of our interactions here is not diminished by the misuse of AI.
- The Importance of Ownership and Diversification: The suspension of my Substack account, though frustrating, taught me an invaluable lesson: the essential importance of owning my audience. For this, having an email list is fundamental, and I am totally committed to achieving that. On the other hand, this experience also showed me the need for diversification. With that idea in mind, I opened an account on Threads with the goal of exploring that platform. I found very interesting resources to build an audience interested in my educational content. However, you won't believe it! Shortly after creating my account, it was also suspended!!! Haha. It seems my business is very "dangerous," right? I still don't know the exact reason for this block. After several appeals, my account was reinstated. My theory is that it was suspended simply because it was a new account and the bots managing that network detected too much activity on it.
What I'll Explore Next Month
- Comprehensive Content Strategy: My main goal is to build a truly comprehensive content creation strategy for all my platforms: my website, Instagram, Facebook, Substack, and, of course, Kit. I want this strategy to be manageable. I don't want to become a slave to my own system, but rather to create one that works in a minimalist, sustainable, and scalable way.
- Infoproduct Creation: This is a crucial step that I believe will make a significant difference in how I've generated income so far. I'm excited to start developing my own infoproducts.
- Continuous Training: I will continue to immerse myself in my training, focusing especially on the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Social Media Marketing. Constant learning is key to staying relevant and continuing to grow.
This second month has been a mix of steady progress and unexpected challenges. If the first month was about the excitement of building, this one has been about resilience and deepening the foundations. The difficulties with email marketing and social media platforms, though frustrating, have provided me with invaluable lessons about audience ownership and the importance of diversification. Iโm grateful for the Wealthy Affiliate community, even with its small imperfections, and enormously motivated to continue applying what I've learned and see how my business continues to evolve. The future is promising!

Sounds like you are doing well, Leo! Good job and press on.
Side note: it is a shame that WA members are gaming the new system with AI responses. Maybe the new technologies will allow for those kinds of comments to be rejected.
Hey Leo, it seems that you have it all figured out and your determination will drive your success. Just don't give up, no matter how bad your day or month my seem!
Thanks about sharing your journey. Yes, there are a lot to do, and documenting your journey is already a great strategy. Keep learning. Keep building ๐ซ.

I think you are doing really well.
It's really upsetting that WA members are using AI to answer questions. I think that's because answering questions gets them quite a lot of points and there are a few who are fixated on their community points and earnings.
Agreed๐
Thank you!
Yeah, that could be the cause. It's a pity if it's like that.
