What is the meaning of our lives?

This morning was a bit strange for me, I had three topics on my mind and wasn't sure which one to write about. Most of all, I wanted to write about how grateful I was for having Janie written such a lovely post about me last night.

But then a question came up: What is most important in our lives?

And here I am writing about it.

Stop for a minute and ask yourself: What do I think is the most important in life?

Many of you will probably say love. Or family. But this question goes deeper. For me it's more: what is the meaning of our lives?

I was thinking about the question what is the meaning of my life a lot in the past. On the quest for answers, I found many interesting books and articles. But I remember only one answer that really resonated with me and I think it's true.

The meaning of our lives is to be happy.

When you think about it, it makes sense!

When you are happy, you can make the people around you happy. And that's what matters.

Most of us won't change the world the way big geniuses do. Most of us are not motivational speakers, Mother Theresa or anyone like that.

But we can do a lot just giving love, understanding and support to our loved ones, husbands/wives, children, pets, friends and people we meet in everyday's life.

To be able to do that, we have to be happy. I don't think it's possible to live in a horrible relationship and still be happy. Or to have a job with a disrespectful boss and just accept it. To me, it's necessary to find a way out and do what you love, be with whom you love and then you can spread love.

There are situations in life when we really can't make the change we would love to so much. I've been there. In such cases, there is advice to accept it for now and think of it as of a lesson.

But never stop pursuing the ideal.
Be like a child.
Believe it is possible.

I can't finish this post without saying how happy I am, in spite of the fact that I'm far from my financial goals. But I'm happy and grateful I found the love of my life as I never stopped beliving in the ideal relationship where one truly appreciates the other.

I'm so happy and grateful I can keep learning new things here and keep going on the way to my dream.

I'm so happy and grateful for some people I've met here. Not only Janie and Heidi. Many more of you are such an inspiration for me and I can feel the love you have inside. Thank you!
