Hi all

I'm just in the process of writing my latest post for my WA promo site, It felt like I had been writing for hours then I realised it because I have.

Just out of interest I decided to check the word count for the content I had write so far, and it comes to over 2,500 words and it's only three quarters of the way through.

I'm going to re-jig a couple of things and turn it into somewhat of a pillar post.

When I first joined WA i was seriously struggling to write 400-500 words. Now I can't produce a blog post that contains less than 1,000 words. I just can't!

Nope, it's almost been two years and haven't had that problem. Funny because if you would ask my family, they would tell me that most of the time they can't get me to shut up LOL.

I am glad you brought this up though. Just in case. I like the responses you got. Now only if I can remember them when and if the time arises for me. :)

I've had the same experience. For your longer posts, you might want to do a "part 1" and "part 2. This breaks it up into readable lengths, plus gives you the opportunity to use two different keywords and rank for both.

A thought - can you break your post into two posts and utilize a different keyword for each? People might stop reading if the post is too long. Just a thought to kick around a bit.

I do end up with more than 1000 words most of the time also.

I wish I had this particular problem! Mine are just too short as I am used to put facts into short terms , especially in English.

Sounds like a good problem to have.

Yes, I do find this too. When I went back to check over old posts some were barely 300 words! It gets easier the more I do it. :)

Perfectly normal once you become comfortable. We all become blabbermouths. So we have to understand that quality rates higher than quantity. If it's long and dull it just won't get read.

Hi Dick, couldn't agree more. I personally write my post from start to finish and then go back through and edit out anything that's not essential.

Makes sense to me

Yep, I've definitely had the same experience. When I first started working on my blog site I thought I was doing good to hit 500 or so words in a post, now I'm averaging closer to around 1500 and it still feels like it isn't enough, but I worry about being too long-winded sometimes lol

I know the feeling, my rule is if it needs to be said say it, if not then don't. All of my posts lately seem be long, I may throw in a few shorted posts to mix things up.
