hi guys after a chat with craig0s last night I feel like i need some experienced constructive criticism. i and still in process of building my website but craig has brought up a good point that got me thinking. he said " your website has no direction, it doesn't cater to your target audience, there's no need for anyone to visit it". my niche is around living a freedom lifestyle. my websites name is "thenotebooklifestyle.com". i wanted the domain thelaptoplifestyle but that was already taken so had to settle for thenotebooklifestyle.

im building my website around helping people who want to live a freedom lifestyle. no work commitments all you need is a laptop and an internet connection. not only do i want it to be a website that will help people but also i eventually want to turn it into a travel blog, entertaining people through different adventures.

my thoughts for my website for this year.

as im planning to do alot of travelling mid next year, ive got 12 months till i can show people the travelling side of thenotebooklifestyle but for now i was going to focus on the make money online niche as thats one side of the notbooklifestyle (being able to make money online so you can live that lifestyle of freedom and travelling).i realise my post are weak at the moment and need more content on my site but i want to get the foundation right first. i really appreciate craigs feedback and encourage anyone else who wants to give some constructive criticism on my website and the direction im going. I'm sure a lot of other new members can learn from my mistakes as well.

i can tell a lot of people are going to think this is a brand new account but i started back in November and due to work commitments i quit for a few months i have finished 4/5 of the training levels back in December. been back for around 1-2 months.

Based on your post, I assume your website is about mobile computing without having a fixed physical location or creating a lifestyle to travel.

However, that is not what your website currently tells me.

Your top two posts, which are above the fold, are about Google ranking and making money. These are irrelevant to mobile computing.

Your "About Me" page focuses on different ways to make money online.

So from my comments, it is difficult to determine the focus or concept of your website.

Hope this helps.

i agree a static front page is what i strive to create but that will take alot of time. im a full time electrician working monday to friday plus im only 22 so need a social life i just try to learn more and work on my website in my down time. i have never heard of moblie computing what makes you think my website revoles around mobile computing?

You mention laptop and notebook. And when you add the word lifestyle, it makes me think of someone sitting in a coffee shop or airport using their laptop.

I assumed mobile computing based on my conclusion the website is about mobile devices and the lifestyle associated with using them.

alright. yeah thats the type of lifestyle im trying to portray but the problem is its hard to show that part of my life as i only travel internationally 2 times a year due to working full time locally. but thats the direction i want to take this website. thanks for the comments glen you've made me think deeper how i should build this website to cater for my target audience.

You got it. Identify your target market. Create a description, profile, avatar (or what ever you want to call it) of your typical reader.

Sound advice here by Glen. Create a story board of what your website is going to be about, who you are going to help, and what you are going to help them with.

If you just think of your website in a "Broad" sense without defining these items, you are going to sit in a state of being overwhelmed for some time.

When I go to do research on a given niche to come up with concepts for keywords (and ultimately content), I ask a few questions of my niche.

**What are some products/services that people are purchasing in your niche?
**What are some questions they are asking?
**What are some problems they are having?
**What are some "how to's" that are useful?
**What are some trending topics in your niche?

Do some research, in could be as simple as a Google search to uncover a lot of these items. I personally start off my keyword research using this technique: This will open your doors to essentially unlimited ideas and concepts, from there you can plug in these keywords into a keyword tool like the one here at WA or http://Jaaxy.com. Hope this helps you out here Glen!
