Your Comments Tell Me You Won't Succeed

"Great website! You're going to be very successful because your content is so awesome!"

"Keep up the good work! You can do it!"

Are These Your Comments?

We have an unbelievably friendly community here at Wealthy Affiliate. We all want to be successful and provide encouragement to each other.

But if your comments are like those I've listed above...

You're not going to succeed at this.

"Why?" you ask.

Because you haven't paid attention to the training here at Wealthy Affiliate, or you've skipped it altogether...

You're impatient.

You're desperate to make money from this.

So you take before you give.

How to Give Then Receive Comments

Many ask for help and feedback on Live Chat.

But you really should do this instead:

Click here to read what Kyle has to say about comments.

Good quality content can ignite discussion and conversation from your visitors (if you know how to enable discussion and comments).

Authentic comments that are relevant to the context of your blog post/page and your niche will encourage more readers to comment, because we're inherently social by nature.

More comments attract more visitors and help you rank higher in Google.

Click here to complete (at least) this section of the Affiliate Bootcamp.

After you've completed the steps above, you can give comments on others' websites and receive comments on your website.

But you already knew that, because you actually followed Kyle's training...

Right?

I'm not ready to give and ask for comments on my website yet, because I'm still working on mine.

I suffer from CPES...remember?

But when I do give comments to you, you can rest assured, they are going to be AWESOME and RELEVANT to your pages and posts.

Why?

Because I love a good conversation and always have something to say.

Did I mention before that I read a lot of blogs?

Did you know that people who post awesome comments that provide insight and value to others on the websites they visit get some traffic back to them?

Most websites enable backlinks from good comments (not spam), but some don't because they $u(k)!

After I've provided you with authentic comments that will PROVIDE VALUE to you and your readers,

I'll ask you to return the favor.

Can I rely on you, my Wealthy Affiliate community, to support me as well?

Yours in health, wealth, and life!

Great post. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome!

That's right if you want a favor...do a favor...if you want a blessing ....be a blessing to someone else.....Thanks

I believe some Wealthy Affiliates simply don't know the difference between feedback and comments as intended in our pay-it-forward system at WA.
Thanks,
Darren

I too was one of them until I learned the real meaning of comments

This post is coming at a good time. As WA is growing I have seen some members comment to posts and blogs within our community with responses that don't make sence or aren't even relevant to what the post was for.

Quality is better then quantity, andfor the pay it forward system to really be beneficial we all actually need to do it right...

Thankyou for sharing

That's exactly what I was hoping to convey with this post! When we're commenting on each others' actual websites, we need to help by providing valuable comments that provide insights and spark more conversation rather than simply words of encouragement. Encouragement is nice, but let's save that for here within WA.

Couldn't agree with you more...

good post thank you

You're welcome!

Very good point Darren. If you have not read Kyle's post on feedbacks and comments, you will provide comments like the ones mentioned above. Thanks for the share.

LOL! We're all so impatient, too. Skipping training and then asking for help that's in the training.
Thanks,
Darren

Yea, that is frustrating. Especially when you have taken the time to do the training.

For me, I ask myself this question everyday. Am I willing to learn the material that is readily available here to succeed?

I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned impatience. We are in an age of quick gratification. No one wants to spend the time learning. It is easier to ask someone for the answer.

Nice to read Darren!

Thank you Paul!

Yes we are her to help each other and not go against the grain!

Yes. Sometimes the help that we need feels like like it's "going against the grain." ;)

Comments and post must be an honest to goodness evaluation of self. It's not to hide the facts about what and where you are in. But it must also be where you are headed to.

Yes. If I write a post about how to make money online, and you comment by saying, "good job...your website looks good...or good point, it doesn't add to the discussion."

I know many people get it, but I've seen many instances where people don't get it. They think they have to make up a comment instead of just being authentic.

If I can't leave a good comment or get interested in a blog post, I just won't do it. Saves me time and it saves the blogger time from having to read then delete it.

Thanks Jimmy.
Darren

Sometimes by just saying a short word means that you noticed it, you read it though there are words that would not really mean something intentional.

I get it. Please remember that I'm only referring to comments on websites. Not here on Wealthy Affiliate. ;)

I'm a firm believer in making every effort to leave engaging comments, whether for WA posts or for someone's site. I would dare to say that it would be the right - from one writer to another - to be as authentic as possible.

Granted, every comment you leave may not cause emotions to stir, but leaning towards those generic comments, on a regular basis, is just lazy and inconsiderate.

Thank you for sharing your insight, Darren.

Spoken like a true ambassador!

I really don't have any problem with Wealthy Affiliates leaving short comments here. It does bother me when we write totally irrelevant comments on others' websites when we're supposed to be helping each other.

Thanks,
Darren

Well, I have to say, that at least Site Rubix can monitor the autheticity or uniqueness of a comment. It can be annoying when you think you've written a comment of value, to receive that "not unique" message pop up. But I just use that as fuel to leave better comments. That message rarely pops up for me anymore, so I must be making progress.

People need to understand that comments left on someone's site can be seen by anyone! It should be taken seriously.

Really? I wasn't aware of the "not unique" message for comments. I thought it only applied to blog posts here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Nope! Site Rubix doesn't mess around! Like I said, it can be annoying when you've taken the time to leave a thoughtful comment to have that pop up. But I appreciate it, because it forces people to dig deeper.

Actually, the only monitor for WA posts is marking either the post or comment as spam.

I just wrote a comment about this yesterday because we have that discussion page where we can share our website for comments and feedback and many people want the person they commented on to also comment back on their website, but I don't want to do things like that because I may comment on someone's website that I'm genuinely interested in and they may not be genuinely interested in my website...what would that comment look like? I want my comment section to be natural and organic, and also relevant. I have had some good feedback through sitecomments. Nonetheless I have to check out those links you posted here and this was a very good post to read and visually look at. You have a lot of elements going on in this post that keeps me engaged and inspires me to step up my game lol. :)

Thank you Sharlita.

The focus of this post was to remind others that our comments do matter and directly reflect upon our odds of succeeding.

You're doing the right thing by controlling the types of comments that you allow to be posted to your blog/website.

Darren

I love this advice! So far I have not run into too many people who give comments like this, but I am sure that it happens quite often! Thank you for putting this out there!

If you look across the blogging community, they are drawn to each other because
1. they can relate
2. commenting on similar blogs helps to drive traffic back to theirs
3. they develop online relationships

If you aren't getting these comments on your blog yet, you can start by looking for similar blogs like yours and build relationships through the comments of those bloggers. Yours is such a small niche that you might have a hard time finding them, but you've got to keep looking and keep writing good content.

I give you this feedback not as a prolific blogger but as a prolific blog reader.

Thanks,
Darren

I appreciate all feedback -- I want to succeed and to help others do the same! Thank you!
