Small But Important Tip for Writing a Blog Post

Do you suffer from CPES?

What is CPES?

CPES stands for continuous post editing syndrome. Afflicted sufferers have a never-ending craving to edit their blog posts. If you suffer from CPES, like me, you only have one amazing, continuously evolving post that stays current every week, every day, every hour... There is no known cure.

What can I do to manage my CPES?

Although there is no known cure for CPES, there are tools we can use to manage our affliction. My favorite tool is Google Docs. I can create a blog post there, edit it continuously until I have something more important to do, copy all, and paste it in a post I've created in Word Press. Even pictures and links will copy over without having to make too many major edits as long as I select the Visual tab before pasting.

Those who are less fortunate and have to settle for Microsoft Word or some other unknown tool can still create their blog posts on their less user-friendly blog post creation platform then copy and paste to Word Press as well.

Create and edit your blog posts outside Word Press to keep your number of revisions at a sane level. If you're in double-digits and your post is only a few days old, seek help. I'm available to lend an ear and maybe you can help me, too.

Happy Editing...err...Posting!

Here's another tip, not quite a cure, but sometimes it helps.
Stop. Tell yourself it's fine.
Go back to it in a week or two with fresh eyes.
Repeat.

LOL!!!!

Soooo funny - probably because it is so true!

You may have discovered a whole new niche there - helping people with CPES !! CPES therapy and practitioner training courses...it's endless what you could make on this :D

It is much better when you are fixing your own posts, but when you are asked to help someone else and they keep changing their minds, you just want to scream!!!!!

Perfectionist syndrome!

I usually suffer from the same affliction.

It is better than an, "I don't care syndrome!"

Thank you for your fun post.

Hi. Running on generator power due to electrical storms and hoping to get connected to skype at 1600 your time .Could be in and out tonight. :)

2

Oh Wow. You have been hit by those nasty storms.

I hope you will be safe.

Maybe candle light is in order.

The soft flickering of the candle light might be nice to help you mentally step back in time when we did not have all these electrical conveniences.

It is God's way of telling you that you need to go to bed earlier!

Be kind to yourself.

I will miss our chats.
