Interactive Video For Your Site - Next Generation Stuff
I tend to think outside the box when it comes to items for my website. I've looked into Virtual Reality (which can be done in a website), 3D elements, video game creation (which is possible for the complete beginner/novice), and the like.
All of that is well and good, but we have to start simple. Video is possibly one of the best ways to get large amounts of content to someone in a short period of time. I wanted to get video to my visitors, but not just any video - something people haven't seen before.
Enter interactive video.
A rather new company has come out with video that fully interactive, while not leaving the video itself. People can tweet, update Facebook, take polls, and even visit websites inside the video.
Imagine giving a review of a product, or showing someone how to cook, and having your affiliate link to that product show up inside the video so people could purchase right there, and not leave your video or site.
Now that's some powerful marketing.
So, what is this amazing little piece of software I'm talking about? It's called TouchCast.
A few months ago they just released a desktop version for PC's. The Mac desktop version is being worked on. Until then Mac users will have suffice with the original IPad release.
You can green screen edit, and edit on the fly. Have poll questions with live updates happen at the mark you want them. Have downloads happen when you want them available. Combine video and lots more. Oh, and did I mention there is a free option available?

I've done a couple small video's (3-5 minutes) using an iPad mini with a green screen when they first launched.
I would recommend a full sized iPad.
I've been following them since they launched. It really some very good stuff they are doing. Primarily focused on education right now, but full business is in the works.
I do some how to vids on my youtube channel just using screencastomatic (because it's free). I do it to help other members. But am finding I really enjoy it so hoping to later be able to buy a really nice video tool.
Touchcast is free. At least, last I checked a month ago.
I use ScreenFlow (mac user), Explaindio ($36), and FinalCut Pro ($1,400) for my video's.
I have another post where you can see some of the video openers I just finished. Just have to put the tail end tag on the link to open them.
