Treat your online website or blog as a company from the very beginning.
I would like to start this conversation and see if I can get community help to find an answers and recommendation.
When you have a full-time day job, it is very challenging to run and establish an online business. Even with all, we learn here, and community helps I still have many open questions around legality.
So below my notes and questions. Will appriciate your comments and guidance
- Keep all your expenses and income earn from a blog neatly.
How many of you keep this record and what preferable software you use?
- You need to learn and know all the local laws and regulation about running an online business.
- How many of you are following advice from FTC
do you have examples for
- G+
- other social media
- If you selling a product, how do you find your local sales tax charge for Digital product
- Physical product
- services
- Is your business legal
- Did you register a company for your online blog and at wat point you would consider doing so?
- For any mail program based on FTC rules, you need to provide an address. Do you have a business address ? is it your home residence or PO box?
- Do you have an EIN?
- Do you have a business bank account?
- Do you have a separate PayPal account for your online blogging?

Very good points. I have wondered about all of the above as well, and I am one of those that when I start earning then I will get an EIN #. I already have a separate bank acct since I have dabled in other adventures before. My payment to anything I purchase is done through that business acct and not personal.
I thought about getting a EIN#, but not necessary for me now.
I like your opinion lavera. Because an online business is pretty automated, we can sometimes be a bit lazy sometimes. Treating it like a real business should be the way. Thanks for reminding me :-)
Hi Lavera
Excellent advice, the thing is that this is a business and should be run as a business from the get go. One of the things that stands in a person's mind is that it's of sort not really and when I start making money I will look at it then. Start today, thank you for sharing.

Thanks for this article, there are many things to think about. It important to know. It is bookmarked. :))
Hi Lavera
The questions you are asking are really up to each individual person. I am in the process of all of the above as my business is targeting a local audience. Your questions are obviously important to you so you should follow them through for your business.
Everyone here at WA will set their business up according to their preference and the country they live in. As well as the level of commitment an individual has towards their business.
Setting up your business is going to be challenging whether you have a full time job or not as you have a significant learning curve ahead.
Kind Regards
Michelle
Thank you Michelle for comments and i understand that all those questions are more suited for individual preferences and research, but again i'm asking these questions because i do not want to get in trouble. Also i do not want to have more expenses in setting up different business for online endeavour. But i would like to know at what point some people would go through all of the above points. How are all disclose they advertisement on social media and so on.
I don't know about the product questions as I don't have actual physical product. I will definitely get an LLC once I start earning. I have 2 paypal accounts, but only cause 1 is old and registered under a yahoo account I don't use anymore. I might consider more when I get bigger. The tax questions are really of an individual nature, and will vary for everyone. People from all over the world are here at WA.
thank you for you comments, the tax question i understand it more on individual level, but if you are opening a new business it will required a new payroll and more money to pay. so question still open at what level of earning you would go and open all those business related items
