Four Month Progress Report

It has only been four months, since I discovered a website, discussing affiliate marketing and earning money online. That was exactly what I was searching for, not only to learn something new but to also find a way out of my 8-5 cubicle job. That's when I realized that Wealthy Affiliate was worth a shot and I have not regretted my decision at all.

I have learned so much about SEO and the significance of keywords. My website is thecampinggypsy.com, and I write reviews on the camping equipment that we use in our RV. There is an endless list of products that I still have to review and add to my site. Plus there will be more to add, as camping season starts and purchase more products to use and review. I also write blog posts that share my traveling adventures in our motorhome, camping trips, my camping dogs and random thoughts.

Through this whole step by step process, I've learned how to manage my website, which I didn't in a million years that would be possible. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an expert, but if I ever have questions or issues, I just ask the wonderful members, here at Wealthy Affiliate, and there are always answers. In these short months, I've made my first commission. At first, I was in disbelief, and I sat there staring at the computer screen, thinking...is this for real or am I reading it wrong. Once I realized it was an earned commission, that's when I was convinced. The classes here on Wealthy Affiliate do work, and this is real. I have built not only a website but a business, and it's working!

One of my goals that I need to make for myself is a personal schedule for each day of the week. I work a full-time job and building my online business, with the WA classes, so at times, it has been a bit overwhelming, and my brain feels a bit like a jello mess. If I had a set schedule, where each day of the week would be different tasks and also a particular time frame. I've been addicted to WA and my website growth, that I can spend hours working on everything, including keeping up with the social media followers. I also need to remember that a day off completely from all work is required to keep my sanity.

In the next three months, I hope to move up in the Google rankings and my website to receive more visitors. The more people that find me, the more people that I will be able to help with my reviews and more possibilities for commission sales. I know that as my website grows and matures, Google will like that and work with me to my advantage.

If everything goes well, my goal for the next six months would be that I would have enough content on my website, which eventually I could start making a steady monthly income, even if it's a small one. I know that this takes some time to become successful, but I'm in it for the long haul, and it WILL make it eventually.

The best advice that I could give someone new to Wealthy Affiliate is, sign up for the free courses and see if this is for you. If it is, don't hesitate, just do it. Make sure to take each class, one at a time and in order. Don't move forward to the next class, until you've achieved all of the "homework" assignments that Kyle gives you. He is an excellent teacher and explains a lot. If you don't understand something, watch the class video again or reread the lesson and if that doesn't help, ASK QUESTIONS! We're all here to help each other be successful. It's one big happy family and a great one at that!!
