Approached By A Company Regarding My Website

As I have reached out to potential affiliates, I have also approached a company here in Chile in my niche, regarding my site (whyspirulina (dot) com). The company are not in an affiliate programme but like my website.

A Proposal

They have proposed that I become their distributor in the City where I am living and to use my site to receive global orders. This will involve creating a shop on my site aimed at English speaking Countries and the EU, receiving orders/payments, that I will then transfer to the company here in Chile to fulfill. Clearly there are banking, banking fees, and tax implications but its an interesting offer. They do not seem to be saying I need to remove my other affiliate links.

Which Plug In To Create a Shop Is Best?

I assume step one will be having a shop set up. Links to their system etc.,. Can anybody recommend a good plugin where I might start to explore this proposal.

To Motivate You

I mention this to motivate you and to encourage you to think laterally. It just goes to show how WA can help to support and develop our businesses even beyond straight forward Affiliate Marketing.

Or Get Them To Join A Programme - Make me their first Affiliate Marketer?

Another idea that has occured to me is to encourage them to join an affiliate programme so they can sign me up as their first affiliate marketer. Does anybody in the network have experience of this and a good one for a small company to join?

Feedback Appreciated

I Would Really Appreciate Feedback and Comments From Anybody Experienced With Running a Shop On Line, or similar experience with such an arrangement.

Best Regards and thank you.

Hi Trevor,

This is a very interesting proposal. You need to ask all the important questions and have them answered then you can decide whether this partnership will be beneficial for you. Get all the details sorted out then go from there. This sounds like a great opportunity for you. Wishing you the very best!

Kind regards,
Nichola

Thank you so much Nichola. I appreciate your advice. Trevor

You are welcome.

I think adding a shop is a great idea. If it were me I would have some very important questions.

1. If you decide to become a distributor for their product can you promote other physical products on your site?

2.You mentioned bank fees, does that mean that they will ship to your customers? Or do you have to puchase the product upfront?

3. Is PLR an option? If your site is monitized and you are earning a nice income already, why not have your own brand using their product?

4. Is Selling your website an option? If the company sees value in your audience I suppose they really want the traffic that you have gotten to come to your website.

I'm excited for this new opportunity for you. The possibilities are endless. I love it here (WA)!

Thank you Crissy. Some great advice & thoughts.

Very exciting - and congrats on this new opportunity!

I like your idea about becoming their affiliate first - and that is a less risky way to test the waters and get to see if it is indeed a good opportunity for both sides or not.

On the shop thing - I personally prefer Shopify and just running everything through them (you could have your store linked from your site) and they get all the behind-the-scenes headaches.

I look forward to reading about how it all works out, and I wish you all the best with it too!

Best regards,

L.D. Sewell

Thank you. Why do you prefer shopify over woocommerce. I appreciate the lateral thought btw.

Step one is to have a lawyer check out their offer and their company.

Step 2, look up woocommerce and shopify for setting up your shop.

Step 3, look up Stripe (and other payment gateways) so you can accept payments.

Step 4, get your accountant to look at tax details.

Step 5, look at outsourcing fulfilments and customer support.

Step 5, earn those Solis!

Thank you. A great check list of advice.

For a shop - Woocommerce fits well with WA and WP. I am currently using it on my site. It is easy to set up, but a bit more complicated to get everything running the way you want it to be (like everything I guess). There are plenty of plugins that you can add to Woocommerce to make things easier.

Best of luck

Alex

Thank you Alex. Great advice.
