Snorting known facts about Pugs

These wringley-face dogs have a adorable rich history. If you read up on any pug you soon learn some essential fun facts.
1. Pugs are a ancient breed, The lineage goes back to early history, Most believe that the breed originated in China and also exsisted before 400 BCE and were called ( " lo-sze".) Buddhist monks kept the dogs as pets in Tibetan monasteries. And they also were treated like royalty. They kept the pugs as lapdogs and treated them like luxuries of royal life. The pug pooches were given their own mini palaces and were supported by guards.
2. Another interesting fact is they believe the name " Pug " came from a breed of Monkeys called " Marmosets " they to were also kept as pets in the early 18th century. They are know for sharing similar facial features.
Did you also know that a group of pugs is called a " Grumble ".Pugs are well known for their typical Puggy sounds - snuffling, snoring, snorting and wheezing. This happens because of their upturned nose and cocked head.
3. Another fun fact is the pug is official breed of the House of Orange in and around the 1570, the Dutch were in the midst of a Eighty Year War, and was struggling against the spanish. The Prince of Orange, William the Silent, led the Dutch forces into battle. According to the Dutch legend, while Prince was sleeping, The Spanish assinassins lurked outside. Luckily William's pug, Pompey, was there to bark wildly and jumped on his owner's face. The Prince and had his would-be assissins apprehended. Because of this, the pug was the official dog of the House of Orange.
4. A perfect Pug tail would have two curls, Pugs are known for their curly tails that curve up towards their bodies, This is according to the AKC, " the double curl is perfection."

There are of course more amazing things to learn about pugs, Writing this blog we at one point owned two of these intelegent dogs, our first was a fawn named " Miss Milo " Unfortunatly Miss Milo had to put down due to cancer and she is missed everyday by our family.
We just got our second Pug which is Black and has some white on her chest her name is " Amika" or you could say it this way as our daughter states AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!
She is the love of our lives and brings much joy to our family in my opinion a Pug is one of the most loyal loving dogs you could own there personlity is like no other and we would be lost without her.
