What Changed on Kre8or This Week (And What Is Landing in the Next Month)

I want to do these updates regularly, because Kre8or is moving fast enough now that a month of silence would leave most of you looking at a platform that no longer matches what you remember.

This is a progress report. Some of it is unglamorous bug fixing. Some of it is groundwork for two features I think are going to change how the whole thing feels to use. There are also two challenges running right now, one of which closes in two days.

Quick refresher on what Kre8or actually is.

For anyone who has seen the name but never dug in.

Kre8or is an AI image creation platform, but the image generation is the floor, not the product. Generation is getting cheaper everywhere, and it will keep getting cheaper. What we are building on top of it is the part that does not commoditize.

Three things make it different from opening a chat window and typing "make me a picture."

Everything is attributed. When someone remixes your work, that connection is recorded permanently. There is a lineage chain behind every image showing where it came from and who touched it along the way. Your creative decisions stay attached to your name.

There is a real economy. Challenges have prize pools. Voting is blind and pairwise, so nobody wins on follower count. There is a referral program called Your Circle that pays a lifetime percentage on people you bring in. Credits earned through the platform can be cashed out through Stripe.

It is a community, not a tool. You are creating alongside other people, competing in the same challenges, and building on each other's work.

Two challenges are running right now

Both are live in the Challenges tab:

• Dream Home (closes in 2 days). Everyone has a version of this house in their head. The one you drive past and think about later. The one you have been quietly designing for years without ever drawing a line of it. This one asks you to build it. Your dream home, exactly as you want it, with no budget and nobody telling you what a house is supposed to look like. A glass box on a cliff edge. A crooked cottage buried in a garden. A concrete bunker with one perfect window. A house on stilts over still water. It only has to be somewhere you would genuinely want to wake up.
  Two days left. If you are going to enter one thing this week, make it this one.
  
• Postcards from Nowhere (7 days left). Invent a place that does not exist, then send us a postcard from it. A city built across a canyon. An island where the tide goes out for miles. A mountain town nobody can drive to. Treat it like a real destination, somewhere with weather and food and a main street and a reason people go, then show the one view you would put on the postcard.
  One postcard is plenty. But most places have more than one view worth sending, so send as many as you like. Seven days sounds like a lot. It is not. Get your entries in early, because late entries get fewer comparisons in voting.
  

What shipped in the last week

(1) Challenges got a cleanup pass

Challenges are the most active part of the platform right now, and they were also carrying the most friction. Several things got fixed.

The free vote count was not tracking correctly, which meant people voting toward their free challenge entry were not seeing their progress advance the way it should have. That is fixed.

Entry confusion was the bigger one. There were points in the flow where it was genuinely unclear whether you had entered, how many slots you had left, or what your entry status was. Several of those states have been clarified, and a batch of related fixes went in alongside them.

None of this is exciting to read about. But challenges only work if the mechanics are trustworthy, and trust is built on the boring stuff behaving predictably every single time.

(2) Reference images got a significant upgrade

This is the change I think most of you will feel immediately.

The picker was fine when everyone had twenty images. Somewhere around two hundred it stopped being fine, and finding one reference meant scrolling past square-cropped thumbnails where you could not tell what you were looking at.

It has been rebuilt. Your library now opens in smart sections: Recently used, Faces, Logos, and Favorites, grouped automatically. Faces and logos are detected on upload, so there is no tagging step and nothing to maintain.

Search does more than match filenames. Jump straight to faces, logos, favorites, or recents, then narrow with one-tap filters for category and orientation.

Images display at their true aspect ratio instead of square crops, so you see the whole frame rather than guessing what is outside it. That sounds minor until you have picked the wrong reference three times because the crop hid the part that mattered.

The new View menu, the sliders icon at the top right, controls layout, thumbnail size, and display mode. Long-press any image to favorite it, find visually similar ones, or hide it.

(3) Dashboard organization and consolidation

We have been working through how the dashboard is organized. As the platform has grown, features have accumulated, and things that logically belong together ended up in different places. This is an ongoing consolidation effort rather than a single shipped change, and you will see it arrive in pieces over the coming weeks.

The goal is simple. You should be able to find the thing you are looking for without remembering where it lives.

What is coming in the next 3-4 weeks.

Two big ones.

Prompt Engine. Most people leave the platform to write their prompts. They open another AI tool, describe their rough idea, get back something polished, then paste it into Kre8or. That round trip is friction, and it is friction at exactly the moment when someone is trying to create. Prompt Engine brings that capability inside the platform so you can go from a rough idea to a strong prompt without leaving the page.

Characters. This one is a bigger structural change. Right now, if you want the same person to appear in five different images, you are fighting the model every time. Characters lets you build a character once and reuse it across scenes with consistent visual identity. Same face, different setting, different wardrobe, different story.

For anyone thinking about series work, storytelling, brand mascots, or recurring visual identity, this is the feature that makes it possible. It also opens up a creator marketplace layer, where characters you build can be used by other creators.

Both are in active development, targeting three to four weeks.

Why this is worth your attention as a WA member

I am not going to pretend everyone here needs an AI image platform. But a few groups genuinely do.

If you run a site or a social presence, you need visuals constantly, and stock photography makes your content look like everyone else's content. Kre8or gives you original imagery that is actually yours.

If you like competition, the challenges are a real skill ladder. Blind voting means the work wins, not the audience. Watching your entry get ranked against people who are better than you is the fastest prompt education available anywhere.
