Start. Keep Going. Don’t Stop.

The other day, someone inside Wealthy Affiliate asked a simple but profound question:

“What 3 business start-up tips do you have?”

I could’ve gone into a long, detailed response about marketing funnels, branding, SEO, or niche research (all of which matter).

But instead, I wrote what I believe are the three most important words in business.

Start.

Keep going.

Don’t stop.

That’s it.

The reality is, most people never make it past the first word . Start. They dream, they plan, they overthink, and they wait for the “right time.” But the right time doesn’t exist. The only thing that creates momentum is movement.

Once you start, you begin learning faster than any book, class, or video could ever teach you. You’ll make mistakes — you’re supposed to. Every step, even the messy ones, builds experience.

Then comes the next part: Keep going.

This is where the majority fade.
The excitement wears off.
Things get hard.
Doubt creeps in.

But consistency beats intensity every single time. You don’t have to sprint — just keep showing up. Small daily progress compounds into something unstoppable.

And the last piece . Don’t stop. That’s the separator.

Everyone hits walls. Everyone hits setbacks. The difference between success and failure almost always comes down to who kept going when others quit. Business, like life, rewards resilience more than raw talent.

So if you’re reading this and you’re somewhere between the first step and the next one…

Start.

Keep going.

Don’t stop.

Because everything you want on the other side of this journey is waiting for the version of you that didn’t quit.

I’m at this cross roads at the moment as I’ve just moved house and then been on holiday. So my affiliate business has taken a back seat. Now I’m hoping to crack on with the affiliate website this week and being mindful of small steps.
Have a good week everyone.

It happens to the best of stuff, we can't feel bad about life getting busy and things coming up. Even if you are full steam ahead and full-time online, this will be the case. Dedicate the time that you have and be productive with the time you have, you can still get a lot done!

You have a wonderful week as well!

I can relate to this! Take a moment to catch up and keep moving forward!

Kyle, this resonates deeply. I'm curious - in your experience, what's the single biggest mindset shift that happens during the "Keep Going" stage? I'm exploring how learning philosophies intersect with entrepreneurship, and I'm finding that the moment when someone transitions from "doing tasks" to "understanding the process" is often when real transformation happens. Have you observed patterns in how successful people navigate that middle stage where excitement fades but momentum hasn't quite taken over yet?

What's your alternative to keeping going? Quitting? If that is the case, then if you give up you are a quitter. Mama never raised no quitter...and anything I have approached in life, I have approached as though my goal was to succeed at it.

Failures are part of it, you don't hit 10 3 pointers in a row the first time you pick up a basketball...you have to miss 100,000 shots first. Same with business, you are not going to nail everything you do, but through time and "keeping going", you will start to succeed at things at a much higher rate and KNOW what will lead to more success.

Plus, mama never raised no quitter!

Kyle, I love that basketball analogy - it perfectly captures what I call "ensemble learning." Just as missing 100,000 shots builds muscle memory and spatial awareness, in business we're building pattern recognition and adaptive capacity. Your point about "KNOWING what will lead to more success" resonates with my Symphonics work - there's a moment when isolated tasks become an integrated system, when the learner can improvise because they've internalized the fundamentals. That's the transformation point I'm exploring in my educational methodology. Thanks for this perspective - the sports-to-business parallel is incredibly powerful for demonstrating how practice creates competence. Mama raised a learner, not a quitter! 😊

Hi, I totally agree that you have to keep going and keep producing content to build out your site. I have continued to do this and I am now seeing some results!😀
Once you start seeing results, it motivates you to keep going because you can see the sales coming in!

Absolutely, but content on your website is just one way to get reach and traffic. There are many. We need to remember there are MANY ways to get reach, and meet people where they are at!

Great to hear you are seeing results Sandra, keep up the great work! :)

Thanks Kyle. I agree with you about the different ways of reaching our audience. Facebook and Pinterest are two tools that I use to increase my reach.

Kyle,

The DJ is playing in the background, Don't Stop Until You Get Enough!... With videos coming to WA, will we be able to comment with a video?

Just curious, as I had to create a short post to answer this one in a video.

Here is the post and Keep Going -

4

We are considering allowing vlogs to be integrated into various areas of WA...like comments, like private messages, like SiteSupport. You can certainly create vlogs as you know now and link to them from a comment though!

4

Done. Answering in 6~12 second clips in becoming habit as I build out the stable of avatars that I have creted.

1

If only people knew how DEEPLY profound that is, Kyle.
Not only with our WA business but with life in general.

Persistence is that one, true skill that will take you places you may only have dreamed of.

An excellent share!

I think you come to realize some of the authentic simplicity of creating a business, and what is required to make it happen. We aren't all just given a golden spoon, most successful entrepreneurs arrive on success from this simple model.

Starting things and doing that with frequency. Keep going through the difficult moments, the problem solving, the unknowns, the house on fire events...and don't ever stop. The last one is the one that gives you a true competition over others.
