Hey Everyone!

Let's kick off the week with some Monday motivation on a topic close to every entrepreneur's heart: idea development in your business. As we move through the journey of building and growing a business, ideas are your most valuable currency. But how you capture and act on these ideas can make all the difference, and how you deal with "bad ideas" (which we all have along the way).

Today, we are going to explore:

  1. Capturing Ideas: I'll share my personal methods for recording ideas, from traditional pen and paper to digital tools like Apple Notes. Discover the importance of keeping track of your brainstorming sessions and spontaneous thoughts.
  2. Feedback and Improvement: Learn how feedback from the Wealthy Affiliate community drives continuous improvement and innovation in our platform, highlighting the value of community insights in refining business strategies.
  3. Evaluating Ideas: Understand that not all ideas will hit the mark. Some of your biggest concepts might not pan out, while seemingly minor ideas could lead to significant breakthroughs. Embrace the unpredictable nature of idea development.
  4. The Implementation Test: Dive into the practical side of testing your ideas. Real-world application is the ultimate test of an idea's value, offering lessons on what works, what doesn't, and how to pivot accordingly.
  5. Encouragement to Innovate: I'll encourage you to keep generating and testing new ideas, emphasizing that both successes and failures provide invaluable insights for your business's growth.

The path to success is paved with ideas of all shapes and sizes. As you move forward with your online business, remember the importance of being open to experimentation, knowing that some of them will succeed, and some will totally flop. Your next big idea could be just around the corner.

I'd love to hear about your process for developing and testing new ideas in your business. How do you decide which ideas to pursue? Share your experiences and strategies in the comments below!

Let's make this week a productive one, filled with creativity and innovation!

Good morning Kyle,

I must admit over the years I seem to have had quite a few ideas, some of them not so good and some of them probably very good. The problem is having the time to implement all these ideas. If we are not careful, an idea can hold us back on our original plan. However, I do hear where you are coming from, Kyle!

I find Google keep and Google tasks which is connected to my Google calendar very useful tools for ideas and notes.

Have a fantastic Wednesday.

Roy

An idea is just that, until it is implemented. Lots of us have thought of some of the greatest inventions before they happened, I remember back in 2002 when I was conceptualizing the "UBER" idea, but of course someone else later took on that project.

The key is taking our ideas, and running with them and working to implement them. Without that, we cannot achieve success, and we cannot learn from failures and become more skilled business people.

And that is great that you use Google to keep you on track. I have many processes that keep my workflow study, and help me keep track of my ideas, but it certainly isn't perfect.

You have a wonderful Wednesday as well! :)

That's amazing, Kyle; it's amazing how the human brain works! A pastor friend of mine in the States created and patented the very first commercial infant changing table. I really do find it amazing what people think up, Kyle!

That's so true; we definitely need to try and run with our ideas; otherwise, they just slip away.

The only problem with using Google for everything is that they already know too much about us!!

Have a fantastic Thursday.

Roy

Hi Kyle I have found over the years that some ideas are great right down to the implantation stage. Then you find out that the amount of time and effort do not equal the reward. I agree with you some of the ideas that come to you, in my case are while listening to You Tube while having a drink, waking up in the wee hours of the morning with your mind racing are some of the best practical ideas you will ever have. Keep up these short video topics they are great stimuli. I will be contacting you soon as HUGE changes are happening at our end. We will need your advice because we will be completely out of our comfort zone. Its to do with Wealthy Affiliate and to propel it to the stratosphere. I have been connected to WA for a month now and I am enjoying the challenges finished the core subjects. will speak soon keep up your great contributions Regards ROD.

Yeah, we have found the exact same thing. We have spent 6 months on projects only to realize they were never going to work and had to ditch them right before the release.

Does it suck when this happens? Totally. But the reality is, you learn so much by taking an idea through the process of development and towards implementation, that this newly acquired knowledge and information can make you better in the future, and help you shortlist your best ideas with more efficiency.

And yes, contact me whenever it works best for you! :)

Good Morning Kyle That's true and what I have found a few times is that out of the wreckage comes a little gem that you can build on and helps to soften the blow and the amount of time wasted. Have a good one Mate nice talking to you Regards Rod.

Focusing in business, with a little financial incentive are enough to generate high quality ideas.

Yes, absolutely Hafiz.

What works for me is to figure out what worked (or didn't work) for others, try it, pivot, try again and learn.

Sometimes that's through WA, sometimes through the classes or internal blogs here at WA, and sometimes through random YouTubers.

Key is, what worked for someone may not work for you and vice versa. You try, you learn.

Yeah, that is where education and learning from others can really help speed up processes. Many people spend 10 or 20 years learning stuff, then they sell books or materials based on their findings. Instead of you going through their trial and error, you can speed up the process drastically and eliminate a lot of the mistakes along the way.

Lots of great content, and authorities out there across all niches that you can leverage, including of course all of the ongoing content here.

like remarks and advice. Thanks, MToback

Hey Kyle,

Thanks for this motivation monday post on ideas. Man, it's like you're speaking my language. I'm always jotting stuff down on my phone or whatever's around. I have a notebook on my night stand. Because if I don't write down my thoughts and ideas they'll haunt me until the sun comes out. Sometimes it's like my brain's on fire with ideas, you know? Most are usually meh, but now and then I get cool ones. Just this evening I got the idea for a new business/niche.

I get what you're saying about not all ideas hitting the mark. Been there, done that. But it's those out-of-the-blue, simple ones that sometimes just click and make you wonder, "Why didn't I think of this sooner?"

My struggle though, is 1. figuring out which one to stick with, and 2. how to avoid jumping from one idea to another, especially when they all seem really cool.
