I think about this whenever someone tells me they are having a tough stretch. Maybe the traffic is not coming yet. Maybe a post you worked hard on went nowhere. Maybe you are learning something new and it feels like you are getting knocked around more than you are moving forward. That is the hammer. And it feels terrible in the moment, but it is also exactly what is shaping you.
Over the years I have watched a lot of people build successful businesses here, and I can tell you that almost none of them had an easy ride. The difference is they did not climb out of the fire halfway through.
