How We Earned $60 Per MINUTE During the World Cup!
In 2006, we set-up a campaign promoting a product that would allow people to "watch" the world cup from their work computers. North Americans (primarily) couldn't watch the world cup games live because the games were during working hours, so there was a high demand for people trying to catch the games.
There also weren't easy-to-access apps at the time for this, but there was a "satellite TV to computer" service that paid a $30-40 commission on Clickbank that we promoted, and ultimately during the prime hours we were earning up to $60 per minute during the live games.
That is our story of the World Cup 2006 pay day. There have been many opportunities like this since, and right now you can rest assured there are affiliates and companies capitalizing on the World Cup craze.

World Cup is popular indeed; all my colleagues outside the US are just insane about it (just a handful of US folks though). Sorry Canada didn't move on; with the US and Mexico out, North America is forgotten this time.
As to making $60/minute per game, yup, some opportunities will always be there. Reflecting on affiliate marketing during the BF/CM weekend, I believe we were tracking a transaction about every two seconds! On our next commission payday, we will be paying affiliates 8 figures in commissions! YOY was definitely up. It ended up being a great season after all.

And yes, Canada didn't quite have it in them this year but hopefully this will attract more interest than ever into our soccer programs. My daughter loves everything soccer, and we have been catching all of the games (she is rooting for Portugal now lol).

Yeah, that is it. You can take any event, and any niche idea and think "who has a problem here that I can solve with a product". If you can do that within any niche, and any targeted even, you can create success.
At the end of the day there is a customer, there is a product, and if you can connect the two you are going to be very successful as an affiliate. And fortunately as affiliate marketers there are 5 BILLION customers, and 550 MILLION products, so there are a lot of connections that we can make.

Just remain flexible with your ideas, because there is opportunity in everything you look at...it often times depends at how you look at it. This was simply a case where there was a problem (can't watch game) and where a solution was provide (a product to allow them watch a game).
As an affiliate marketer, we just connected the two and that is often times all it is. Take a problem, solve it and make a recommendation...and there is opportunity absolutely everywhere you look.
