Happy Everyone!

Kyle here with "Beer with Kyle Fridays". Today, I'm on actually vacation in central Washington state, enjoying the scenery and a delicious IPA from Silver City Brewery. Let's jump into today's topic which is primarily focused on updates to the Wealthy Affiliate homepage.

Key Takeaways:

  1. Homepage Feedback: We want your input on the current homepage. Does it meet your needs and interests? Are there areas we can improve? Your feedback is crucial before we roll out the updated version.
  2. Button Labels and Headlines: Do the button labels, like "Join for Free," clearly communicate our membership options? What do you think of the headlines and imagery? We aim to make everything clear and captivating.
  3. Past Iterations: If you've been with Wealthy Affiliate for a while, what elements from past versions of the homepage do you miss and think we should reintroduce?
  4. Conversion Improvement: What additional information or features could we add to the homepage to improve conversion rates?

Now, let’s get into the more finite details.

Current Homepage Overview:

We’re planning some updates over the coming weeks, including an entirely new website. But first, I need your feedback on the current homepage.

  • Join for Free: Does this make you think the entire service is free? We do have a pricing page, but we need to ensure clarity right from the homepage.
  • Headlines and Imagery: Do they capture your interest? What do you like or dislike about them?
  • Content and Layout: Are there any sections that are missing the mark? What do you find most engaging?

Imagery and Background:

You'll notice the lake in the background here in Washington state. There's a bit of smoke due to a local fire caused by fireworks. It’s a hundred-acre fire now, with planes and crews working to control it. Just a bit of context for my backdrop today.

Actionable Feedback:

Please go through the homepage with a fine-tooth comb. Consider what’s working well and what isn’t. Think about what could be added or adjusted to enhance the experience and improve conversions. We want to be as inclusive as possible and make sure we put our best foot forward for newcomers.

Upcoming Updates:

We have a fully updated website coming, which includes integrating some pages and trimming down others for a more streamlined experience. Additionally, there are some tech updates rolling out over the next few weeks to improve the back office of Wealthy Affiliate.

As per usual (and always) YOUR insights and feedback are incredibly invaluable to us. Share your thoughts on the homepage, what you find effective, and what could use improvement. Also, let us know what elements from past iterations you’d like to see return.

Here is the website that I want you to have a look at:

https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com

Always improving and evolving! Have an awesome weekend ahead! :)

I know that I am two months late on this vlog, but those were very hard two months and I was away from everything.. Back to the vlog..

One of the main problems or barriers to entry to affiliate marketing is knowledge. People just don't know what to do. Even if the website is ready, which is a big deal, but that does not solve the mental barrier to entry.

One area which is not represented well in the homepage, is that WA takes a person by hand, step by step into building their business. Therefore, instead of the Hyped third message of flooding your website with traffic, which is not a valid promise, it is a hyped one. Why I say so, because this will depend on so many factors and by experience the majority are facing trouble getting traffic to their websites and it is the responsibility of the business owner to follow the teachings and get the traffic.

So, instead of this promise, let us concentrate on one of the most important pillars of WA which is the Training, that takes one literally by hand into building not only their website, but also they way to build their affiliate business.

I am looking at this from a strategic perspective where any organization exists to solve problems. One of the main problems in this industry is finding knowledge and finding trustable knowledge to build an affiliate business. Unfortunately, the affiliate space is full of empty or scam promises.

WA made leaps in providing trustable knowledge through the step by step approach of building an affiliate business, and created so many tools and features including AI content building to ease the process. This should be one of the major clear messages on the homepage.

An answer to my comment might be that the training is mentioned on the home page in the final sections. This aspect, in my point of view is one of the main pillars of WA, and not flooding your website with traffic.

Those are my two cents, and hope it helps.

Hi Kyle I think the way things are working is fine, I do find that most of my business is done via selling the hosting benefits and when I send them to join it can be confusing. I would suggest creating an affiliate page selling the actual hosting services and benefits as many people need to sell hosting to their clients and a page like this would make it much easier to sell.

Yeah, we currently have a hosting page that you can send people to:

https://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/

We are going to combine that with our websites, and have a website page as the two go hand in hand. But it is definitely a page we have, and you can send people directly to this page through your affiliate links.

Awesome will use it for sure :-)

Hi Kyle:

I can't think of anything I've missed in the previous homepages. Every change has been effective with new updates and features geared toward presenting a realistic picture of what Wealthy Affiliate represents.

The first fold speaks to the right audience looking to turn their passion, hobby or interest into their success story. "Joining for free" further draws attention to give it more consideration.

Additionally, the four steps following gives a taste of what to expect at a glance. The entire page is captivating without being overwhelming while telling the WA story in terms of numbers.

Also. the opportunities to join are appropriately paced giving the opportunity to come on board at different stages of the decision making. Some individuals will be ready without much prompting as it will be evident right away that is what they're looking for. On the other hand, some will need more time to take the first step or not.

It will be interesting to see what you and your team will roll out in the upcoming updates.

Veron

Funny enough, we have tested some "trial" text and 7-day trial text, and it converts people from viewer to starter at a much lower rate. It is pretty powerful to see just how much a button can make a difference in terms of conversions. ;)

Hi Kyle,
I hope you're taking the time to truly soak in the beautiful scenery and enjoy those delicious Silver City IPAs. Rest and relaxation are very important for creative minds like yours, and I'm sure you'll come back refreshed and full of new ideas.

The website looks great. I must admit, I never fully realized the extent of its capabilities before your post. It's so much more than I realized. Like you said, the "Join for Free" button is potentially misleading, implying that the service is free.

I think a video would be a great way to showcase WA's unique training and community. A short, dynamic video could be added to the homepage. It could feature Eric Cantu, Lynne Huy, and Marcus WFHW showcasing WA through their eyes. You could then clearly and concisely explain what WA is, how it works, and why it stands out from other options like MLMs, e-stores, drop shipping, etc. You could highlight WA as it is today with the AI interface for niche selection and writing, the hubs, affiliate selection, step-by-step training, live classes, and the supportive community. And emphasize that it's not just about quick wins; it's about empowering people with the skills and knowledge to create sustainable businesses for the long term. Thanks for inviting me to share my ideas.

Cheers to your vacation and the exciting updates to come!
Respectfully,
Kundi 😊

Agree 💯% 🎯🔥

Thanks so much Kundi, and you are right, the join for free has been there for a bit and while it is true and Starter is completely free (and we also have a pricing link in the main menu).

Appreciate this feedback though, as we are going to be much more clear within the button language and actually have some changes coming to the membership. ;)

Indeed, the leads page needs to be updated. I can't say what will work best and get people to sign up for the free trial version. Once they try they will buy because we then have a chance to interact with them.

For 2024, I have 525 clicks registering on my stats page. Of that number, not one signed up for the trial version. I hope we can fix that so that even if people are just curious, they take advantage of the Free trial offer.

I like the idea mentioned of a short video that gets their attention.

Keep up the innovations!

Are these clicks from actual campaigns and traffic, or are they the result of "content" that you created here on WA, that go shared and traffic through it. It will show up as "content clicks" if that is the case.

But if you have sent 525 clicks to WA and no referrals, then let me know what that campaign flow looks like. The current page is converting quite well with relevant traffic, so would be more than happy to give you a hand with that here Howard. ;)

If it's okay, Kyle, can I email you at kyle@wealthyaffiliate.com? I'll send you a screenshot of what I am looking at.
