Helping Others Implement Their Passion ...

For a long time (over 20+ years) I have helped people figure out what their meaningful "dream", or passion is, and encouraged them to go for it. In the process, I've developed a knack for coming up with ways to incorporate or implement an idea that often turns out profitable. Courage has been my biggest asset and those who know me have pointed this out. I've developed & delivered workshops, training programs, weekend intensives -- where people get down to their own real goal, and gain the courage to go for it. Lots of friends ask me to help them to do this online (costs me lots of time for no money). I am not sure how to package myself, or this, as a niche and wondering any thoughts you may have? I have always been like a cheerleader, or an advocate, if you will -- to help people honor their god given talents / dreams and muster the courage to overcome what's blocking them from allowing it to flourish. BUT - how can I develop / or package this online? (I have other niches, but what makes me happiest is getting ppl to their next step of what's true for them). Thank you for any help or advice. Greatly appreciated.

I would give them a start and follow up with an eBook that takes them to the next level.
If you have been doing this for awhile, I'm sure you have a process that works for most people. Maybe it changes depending on people's learning styles. Cover each one in your book.

You can help people online but don't give them all of the training but make them drool over the content you have. I think you will find that they are more than willing to buy the whole package.

From what I am reading the broad niche is self help and that on it's own is pretty competitive. But if you narrow the focus a bit, for example, you sort of give an example of honoring one's God given talents. You could start with that. You may discover that is too broad too, or it could be exactly what works. You have mentioned that you set up training programs, seminars, etc. If you make them into online videos, audios, webinars, and then create a membership, then you could easily recoup the money that you didn't get paid for. People pay huge amounts of money for self help, especially videos and audio, and if presented correctly, you could make this really work.

Of course, that type of business model is not really taught here at WA as it is much more involved and requires many other aspects of ecommerce like shopping carts, membership management, and payment processors. But you could try to find affiliate programs that compliment your niche and take it from there. Also, you may be able to contact other self help website owners and see if you can sell all that training to them. But if you want a recurring commission from them, you'll have to trust that they are on the level as far as sales.

Best Regards,
Jim

Another idea is if whatever their talent is, encourage them to create a website for it and then get them to sign up for WA under your affiliate program. Your presentation to them is that you give them the encouragement but WA gives them the know how to create their website and helps them learn how to promote it.

So funny how it's easier to help other people with their ideas but when it comes to our own, things aren't always as clear! You're right this falls under the self-help arena and it is incredibly competitive. I love your idea of membership and have thought about that for years. Where I've gotten blocked is in trying to come up with something worthy of a membership fee, since everything is free on the net these days (i.e. youtube videos), so my mind hasn't yet figured that out. ideas are more than welcome!!! A membership site is perfect if the value proposition is there. I planned on using WA as an affiliate, along with whatever courses I do along with so that's a great idea as well.

I really like your idea. You say you are spending lots of time already doing it, so why not use what you are doing, except just put it in a website and article content?

You're exactly right and that's what I've been trying to decide ... working to determine if I want to put that much time in or if my other niche topics are more exciting. Will look at the numbers to help look at the market too. Thanks for your encouragement.
