Amazon affiliate programme suddenly closed my account.

THE FOLLOWING IS THE Message.

Why?
We noticed that you are not using tags associated with your store in any of the Amazon Special Links you have created on your Site https://www.fchanengclass.com/. As a result of this, we were unable to determine the source of traffic. This is in violation of our Program Policies found here: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/operating/policies.

What’s next?
You will be paid for any outstanding fees accrued prior to this notice. You’re welcome to reapply once our program requirements are met.

I have included one of the blog which I didn't add anything tracking code inside.

I have included 2 websites. One of the websites I have included the traffic tracking code.

But another website. I forgot to delete it. I didnt monetise this one. I should not have included the second website because I didnt sell anything on it.

And how can I get back the outstanding commission?

They closed my account.

What should I do now?

I wish I knew more about it, but I don't. I joined Amazon because my site is pretty new, and it hasn't been around long enough to generate some of the traffic requirements that some of the other networks wanted. In the meantime, I'm applying to pretty much every brand for which I find an affiliate. My niche is men's skin care, so I just look for the different product brands (i.e., Neutrogena, Dermatoligica, Cetaphil, Keihl's, etc.) to see if they have an affiliate network--I'm actually surprised how many of them do. I guess you could do the same for the toy manufacturers? I don't know...I'm still waiting to hear back from some of them, but it's only been a couple of days. I did get accepted for one for the brand SkinCeuticals, so it's a start. Hopefully, you'll find something; I'd hate to see you give up.

Sorry this happened Fiona. I would not mess with Amazon. They pay nothing and too many rules. They have gotten too big for their britches, just like Facebook and Google. I use all 3 absolutely as little as possible.

Google "19 Best Affiliate Programs and Networks for Everyone and Anyone".

This is the best list I have ever come across. CJ is fantastic.

Also check out Jack Cao (fellow WA member). His website BareNakedScam.com has some of the best reviews available anywhere. Let me know what you think of that list. Good luck.

i think i will give up Amazon affiliate program.

really low commission rate.

I will try CJ

many thanks for your suggestions. I will have a look at CJ later.

All of the ones on that list are excellent, especially the first 5.

Hi Mark,

Is CJ easy to use?

Are there product reviews?

Another example of why working with Amazon is not a good idea. They have dozens of reasons to toss you out, and the best you can do is reapply later and change every single one of your links.

Yeah, I work for a network, but even before I did, I hated the Amazon program because of the low regard they have for their affiliates. Consider working with other merchants - basically every other one has longer cookies and higher commissions. And, if there's something they don't like, they'll give you a warning usually before just kicking you out!

Sorry that happened to you.

I feel extremely frustrated now!
I cant even update my information! They just temporarily open my account and I need a few more days to open my payoneer account!

You are one of countless affiliates to them. You don't matter to them at all. Sorry, but that's how Amazon looks at their affiliates.

Not the last commission cut, but the commission cut BEFORE that, the next day they announced record profits. They don't cut commissions because they need to, but because Amazon affiliates will just accept it and still keep sending traffic. Is that really who you want to work with?

what did you mean commission cut before that?

I respect your opinion Jeannine from your experience and I am with you. I would not give Amazon the time of day. I quit Facebook 9 months ago. There are so many better options.

Amazon is known for changing commission rates, usually lowering them. There was a time when you got a straight 8% across all verticals if you hit a specific sales threshold. Now some of those same items only pay a 3% commission. And since switching from the 8% > variable rate commission cut, there's been yet ANOTHER commission cut. Sad.

Anyway, that's not the end. As they say, you can reapply. I think you can contact them through their email in connecting with you.

Okay, you're allowed to reapply which means you hadn't been formally accepted into the Associates program after 6 months right? Because you made an error they won't reinstate your account, but you can reapply. They say trial Associates accounts rejected applications cannot be reinstated. I got them to reinstate mine because THEY screwed up, not me.

If you have passed 6 months, got your three sales, and were formally accepted into the program and THEN violated rules, you would have to talk to them about reinstating it.

passed 6 months, got 3 sales.

but I included 2 websites in the account.

The other website, I forgot to delete it.
I didnt recommend anything on another website.

Hi Fiona, you may find this post helpful. From reading their message, you will be paid any outstanding, fees.

Make the required changes and then reapply.

It can be frustrating, especially when you have put in the hard yards.

Best wishes.

I will try to.call them. I hace included a website which I didnt use for affiliate programme.

Have you tried calling them and discussing this. I know of other people who had similiar issues that were sorted out by a phone call. Jim

ok i will call them tonight

Hi, the important part to note is the following which you mentioned in your post:

You will be paid for any outstanding fees accrued prior to this notice. You’re welcome to reapply once our program requirements are met.

So just make the necessary changes & then reapply... And as they say, you'll be paid any outstanding commissions.
