Here I Am Again!

OK, I have been horrible about keeping up with my websites and my WA family since I got sick 4 years ago! So I am jumping back on the merry-go-round in the hope that this time I will stay on and do what I am supposed to do!

It has been several years. in fact, so I am not even sure who is here any longer. But I know the WA community well enough to know that I will be welcomed back whether you are a familiar person or a new face for me -- that is just how we are here! And I have really missed that feeling.

When Covid started in March 2020, I became a full-time educator to my boyfriend's son. Let me tell you -- keeping up with a 4th grader and then 5th grader was no easy feat! Even though our coomunity had in-person learning for the 2020-2021 school year, we opted to have Jacob do remote learning to keep us protected. Last month he started in-person learning at a local middle school, transferring from the district 3 hours away where he previously lived with his mother. So I am now on my 3rd round of parenting -- this round should be the last for this gal!

If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for me returning to my websites after several years of neglect, please let me know! I am sitting here trying to figure out where to start, so any suggestions would be appreciated! It has been 4 years since I updated one site and 3 years for the other! Do I start the training over or just start writing content? And do I do a post explaining that I am back on my sites or just let it go? I am really confused!!

I don't think you need to do a post explaining that you're back. That would just draw attention to the whole thing, which is a waste of your visitors time.

Yes, spend some time reviewing the lessons you did before. Use those lessons to double-check the content you currently have on your site. Are those still the best keywords for your topic? What needs to be updated on the current posts? What are ideas for new posts.

It's hard work to reactivate a site which has been dormant for so long, but it is also an excellent exercise to help you get back in the swing of things.

Welcome back!

Thank you for your words of wisdom! I am looking forward to learning once again and hopefully being able to stick with things this time!

Interesting situation you find yourself in.
Reviewing the training is important for me, after a break from the sites. Good luck as you work your way through. Samii

Thank you!

Take each website, one at a time, and update each. But only after you've first read over the training offered. Take your time, you'll get it. Welcome back my friend!

Thank you!

I'm glad that you are back, Kristin! Refreshing yourself in the training might not be a bad idea!

Jeff

Thank you!

Hi Kristin
I'm glad to hear you've got through all that, especially your illness.

How much do you remember?
Do you have backups for your old sites?

If you don't remember a lot then start at the beginning of the training. As you go you'll know which bits need more attention.

Also, if you don't have backups you might as well start at the beginning ... at least you'll move forward faster this time around.

My sites are there --just have not been touched in quite some time.

Hi Kristin
When I tried to look at them through "Follow Me On" they came up as placeholders with a message saying Domain Name Has Expired. I'm sorry if I'm giving you bad news. Perhaps there's a glitch.
:-)
Richard

Yes, they expired last week. Will be renewed on Friday when my check comes through!

... wishing you the best...
:-)
Richard
